Re: Toyota/Lexus transaxle/transmission
I'm fairly new to the forums, but I have evangelized wiki culture amongst my colleagues. I am a professional firmware developer and it has been a game-changer for information sharing amongst our global team. I'm also new to the whole EV conversion thing and immediately when I saw this forum I thoug...

This guy is using a complete i-Miev drivetrain for his BMW 318i: https://318iev.blogspot.com/
I don't know if there is a lot of useful information for you because he uses the complete drivetrain, but maybe you can find something you can use. Check the bar on the right side for all his posts.

(I don't hope this is too much offtopic, I'm trying to understand what you want to do and how it works) Well... entirely offtopic. This is Johanne's build thread for a specific project, not a general "troubleshoot for me how to use a Gen2 Prius transaxle" thread. There are threads about t...

Re: GS450H Discussion
Dumb question, and sorry if already answered, but if mg1 not locked up, can one use mg2 for power and let mg1 pump? If I'm right, the mechanical pump is connected to the ring gear (green) of MG1. If the engine (blue) is locked and MG1 (yellow) turns, then the ring gear will turn and I would say the...

Re: GS450H Discussion
What is the reason that the external electric pump is needed when the internal mechanical pump works driven by MG2? The mechanical oil pump is driven by the input shaft, so if that is locked (as required to get motive tq from MG1), there would be no fluid available to the transmission for lubricati...

A quick search gave me these papers, I don't know if you have access to them. There should be more, also more recent. https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/5729082 http://www.mate.tue.nl/mate/pdfs/12452.pdf https://pure.tue.nl/ws/files/3888701/920330853508724.pdf https://www.mdpi.com/2032-66...

Re: VW Lupo with Prius Gen2 transaxle
My old university converted a Lupo 3L to electric. They probably have some papers online with lots of information about it. A quick google search gave me this website (I didn't read it, I don't have much time atm). Despite being an old page and the specs might be outdated, its a good start for looki...

Re: any source for Lexus gs450h can hacking?
If you compare a Toyota/Lexus hybrid car (e.g. GS450H) with a regular car (for convenience an E65 like Damien's ex car) with converting it to a full EV. Would a hybrid car be easier, the same or more difficult to convert? I can imagine there are two possibilities: 1. You can modify/hack the the EV-o...

I'm not sure I have looked at the right part numbers. I saw some photos of a battery assembly with both P/N 37510-G2000 and 37501-G5000. Some information regarding Kia BMS: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1179 You are using batteries from the Kia Niro PHEV, do you have some k...

Re: Toyota/Lexus transaxle/transmission
No problem, but the p310 is definitely not a modified p112 as you’ve written, it’s physically much larger, and design wise more akin to a gen3 Prius with externally mounted oil pump, second planetary replacement reduction gear set on mg2 and helical transmission gears, Thank you for the correction,...

Re: Toyota/Lexus transaxle/transmission
A question about the P410, the cars with this transaxle have an EV-mode where the car runs without the ICE. However, the oil pump is driven by the engine shaft. How does this work? It can drive up to 50 km/h as long as there is a battery charge. A video with a little bit explanation of EV-mode can b...

Re: Hyundai/Kia Batteries
I see there are different battery packs, does anyone know the differences between them? I found these part numbers:
37510-G2000
37501-G5000
37501-G5100
37501-DD150
37501-CM020
37501-K4050
37501-CM020
These are all Hyundai Kona / Kia Niro batteries.

Re: 330e Hybrid Swap
Would it be possible to mate the GS450H (or GS300H) transmission to e.g. an LS1 engine? For example with the zombieverter for the transmission and a Holley LS EFI system (or something like that) for the LS1 engine? Or even better (/cheaper), the zombieverter also for communicating with the engine? (...

Re: Toyota/Lexus transaxle/transmission
But the information first needs to be gathered before it can be placed in the wiki. I was hoping to get some help with that. Also maybe to discuss about possibilities like external oil pumps with the Prius transaxle so the PSD doesn't need to be welded.

Re: Golf 2 with Prius Gen 3 Motor and Inverter
Nice project. Do you need to balance the driveshafts after welding those together?
And you use a prius gen3 motor with welded PSD, could you also keep it unwelded and lock the input shaft like with the GS450H transmission?

Re: L210 gearbox
A question about the oil pump, if it's driven by the gears internally, is there some sort of rev limit to prevent destroying the pump?
