Re: GS 450h/rx450h/outlander which one to pick?
Another thought is to just leave the ICE in place. Obviously it will make everything really heavy, but adding the additional traction battery capacity would negate need for the ICE to have to start very much. (you could even hard switch the starter solenoid coil so the car literally cannot start the...

Re: GS 450h/rx450h/outlander which one to pick?
Arber333 that's what I am going to try first. Unplug ice and see what works. If abs/lights/something important won't work then I'll try tinkering with pwm signals. If everything else fails then I'll stick to driving a 250HP hybrid car ☺️ for a while. Interesting.. So options for "disabling&quo...

Re: Lowest voltage to practically run a Nissan Leaf Motor
We have successfully run Mazda RX8 with EM61 motor on 192Vdc. Motor would run to 7000rpm only with extensive field weakening but it was enough for highway drive. We used Volt inverter which can go as low as 48Vdc and still provide 600A. Brain of the Volt inverter was replaced with Lebowski and reso...

Lowest voltage to practically run a Nissan Leaf Motor
Background: I bought a storage unit on an auction and it came with a bunch of street scooter batteries and random bits and pieces. Most of them are 42V (36V nominal) or 54V (48V nominal). They all have their own BMS and decent capacity (anything from 500Wh to 1kWh) and all seem to be in decent condi...

Good beginner background reading/videos and FAQ
Hey all, I have a decent understanding of power, voltage, amps etc. I am a MEng (but in materials and mechanical, not electrical). So I get the basics of electrics and have built a few eBikes, and am ready to take on a bigger project. I would like to convert a twin engine boat and having checked aro...

Re: Tracked tank powered by a GS450H
Very cool project man. Good to see branching out from just regular car/truck conversions!
