Re: Recommend a good connector de-pin tool for Toyota?
Dan--T, can you post a photo of the connector you are trying to de-pin? I've been working with some of the Tyco connectors and have some of the puzzle aspects of them worked out.

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
I'm not sure if we are discussing the same connectors, but the housings for the ones in Damian's Mar 13, 2021 8:07 am post, that fit the outside logic and resolver connectors for the Gen3, are from Tyco Electronics, or TE as the company is now known as. Enlarge the second photo, and "Tyco Elect...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Here are some connectors and Toyota part number for connecting to the Prius/Yaris gen 3 inverter. Still need to find the tails for the small signal wires and the resolver plug. For the resolver plug PN on my Prius C(similar to the Yaris?), I come up with G9266-47010. It is an easy push and snap int...

Re: Prius Gen 4 Inverter Hacking
As this model has the logic and driver functions combined on a single board, would it be easier to go the plug and play separate VCU approach? As with the Lexus GS450H VCU?

Just to clarify: Is this front motor a synchronous(with PMs on or in the rotor) motor or is it an asynchronous(induction) motor with no magnets on or in the rotor?

Re: Buck/Boost voltage and Regen
To be honest, the existence of the buck/boost converter is a total mystery to me as you can achieve the same with field weakening. Want to lower regen current at high rpm -> field weakening. Want to produce torque past base speed -> field weakening. Not sure if the concept was unheard of back when ...

Re: Toyota Auris and Yaris Inverter Logic board
Toyota in the US continued to use the Gen 3 inverter for the Prius C models( 2011-2019 when it was dropped). They switched to the Gen 4 inverters for other car models 2017 onward, as far as I know. This overlap can be confusing. The Prius C(and other models) inverter can be identified by the sloping...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
That's what I was afraid of. Again, if someone with a GS450H wiring harness could hunt for the tiny PN(s) on the plug, it might be available like the Gen 3 one Damian just received. Also, sometimes in the service/ part manuals drawings and PNs of the different plug types are listed. I found PNs and ...

Re: Using center drills
I use center drills only to predrill and center my holes. Usually you tap your stock to mark there the drill will have center, but your ordinary drill has a problem grabbing small dent in material and can wader off. I use center drill to make this tap deeper. But not more than a mm or so. More than...

It looks like some Camry (US model) hybrid inverter logic boards have a similar(the same?) receptacle as the Prius Gen 3 LB for the plug going to the IGBT driver board, and are similar in size. Has anyone tried or know if the replacement logic board would fit in the Camry inverter?

Thank you for your response. Being a 8 pole motor, that I would like to run at 8-10k RPM, does this controller have a high enough stator frequency limit (~600-700Hz)?
