Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries

I just got my boards ealier this week. I all new to the pico workflow, how am i supposed to use the firmware folder ? I've read that you can setup visual studio to compile the firmware, i that what i need to do ?

I'm not that handy with the fimware/code side of things if you couldn't tell.

Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries

Thank you, i'll give a try with your solution as i'm not super inclined with those STM32's and as a proof of concept / testing setup it should be more than good.

Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries

Hi all, I've just read through the thread and i have to say i'm impressed ! I have a bunch of mercedes EQC slaves board, advertised as 12s capable with the 76PL455AT-Q1 chip. So if i want to make some boards, and if i understood correctly, I have to add an ethernet transformer on the comms line ? Co...

Re: Leaf Gen 2 inverter/motor as a generator using VCU v1

Update ! I've got good news, i got the damn thing to spin, the fix was to set "FWcurmax" to 0 with the latest firmare version. The calculated ofset worked well enough . My motor is 7c so (0x7C -0x80) x 256 = -1024 so syncofs was set to 64000 and that seems to be close enough. after re coup...

Re: Leaf Gen 2 inverter/motor as a generator using VCU v1

Thanks Pete, I've separated the motor and engine i'm following the same testing procedure as stated previously, the settings you sent me are a little improvement but still not up and running. I can get the PWM noise but motor never spins i have some occasional movements but that's it, even when manu...

Re: Leaf Gen 2 inverter/motor as a generator using VCU v1

Okay, so i've found my old V3 board + leaf adaptor, to put in the inverter and hopefully to have more control over the motor. I have big troubles tuning the damn thing as it is an older board i have to have pinswap to 4 ( swap pwm 1 and 3 i think) i found that from the parameters i used previously. ...

Re: Leaf Gen 2 inverter/motor as a generator using VCU v1

I don't know about this resolver offset effect. Apparently a guy on the internet did it on his porsche 924 or 944 and drove for more than 4000km and if it on the internet it must be true. Well I now have 2 smart engines, I've converted my car 3 years ago and the motor sat in storage at a freind hous...

Leaf Gen 2 inverter/motor as a generator using VCU v1

Hi all, I've built a crazy thing : I've coupled a smart motor ( 700CC turbo inline 3 gasoline) to a leaf motor. I've had to swap the phases and the encoder so the inverter thinks that it's spining forward, as regen is only present in forward. At the moment the inverter is original and has not been m...

Re: Advantics CCS charge controller

Hi, i know the subject is almost 1 year old ... what amount of settings did you have to do on the charge controller ? I've seen on the advantics docs that it only needs 2 can messages to DC fast charge (Pack SOC, Pack CCL and Pack current) is that all that is needed ? How easy was the hole setup/ wi...

Car inverter as a 3 phase inverter ?

Hi, I'm wondering if using as car inverter (prius? Tesla ? others ?) as an inverter for solar stuff. My idea is that you could use a complete HV battery and have a lot of power available for a house (from 10kW per phase up to a few 100 kW per phase). This inverter could be setup for 230v or 110v AC ...

Re: IDC limits via canbus ?

I got arround to doing it (finally), i seems that the command to send was missing a parameter before a concerning ID. So the commands i used are : can rx idcmax 1301 0 16 32 1301 being the id in decimal (0x515),0 being the bit position, 16 being bit length (2 byte) and 32 the ofset. can rx idcmin 13...

Re: IDC limits via canbus ?

johu wrote: Mon Mar 01, 2021 2:03 pm You have to use custom command because parameters don't have the CAN facilities. So

Code: Select all

can rx idcmin a b c
a, b, c being bit offset, bitt length, gain (usually 32)
where/how should i send that command from the web interface ?

IDC limits via canbus ?

Hi all, Finally moving forward with my project :) I'm looking to set IDC min and IDC max via a canbus message sent by my BMS, that way BMS is happy and not opening the contactor when under load because it sees too much power going in or out of the battery pack. I'm using a SDU logic board V6 runing ...

SDU Logic board V6

Hi all,
I think i found a small error on the V6 board.

The diode D1 needs to be backward ( ie the cathode of the diode needs to be on the side where the + is marked)

Picture of a warking board atatched

The other way arround doesn't work ( diode is blocking the 12V comming from Conn6)
