Re: Update via wifi fails

Neat. Whats the output from these two commands: curl --version echo "$BASH_VERSION" I am using curl 7.68.0 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu) and bash 5.0.17(1)-release. Why don't you modify the wiki to leave a hint or try to change the script so that it works on both versions? Might help the next per...

Re: Update via wifi fails

I am stuck at this step... I am not sure if it is something I am doing wrong? This is the verbose output of curl when I try to upload index.js. Screenshot - verbose curl output index_js.png I am not an expert, but it appears like it worked correctly? However, when I then go to 192.168.4.1/list, I st...

Re: Update via wifi fails

Edit: Right, I got the inverter out and back in, in case this helps someone in the future: "I updated ESP firmware from dc8b939.. to b61ccb1.. which has fewer print statements" I believe I have had this issue appear recently as I finally got around to implementing the Tesla PCS controller...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread

I tried to update the inverter controller firmware using the web portal, and it appears I temporarily bricked my controller by not updating the ESP-32 firmware first:/ upon refreshing the web portal after uploading the new firmware, the parameters section is empty and the activity light on the contr...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread

The logs provided by Solition1DC and P.S.Mangelsdorf contain no PCS messages so you have a hardware / wiring problem. Is there any indicator in the wifi portal that will confidently confirm the PCS is powered up if the HVDC isn't connected? The only value I see changing on mine during first powerup...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread

Given past experiences with Tesla chargers I would not try using the PCS with anything under 200v (250v to be safe) but I could be wrong. Thank you for the advice, I think I will just assemble a test pack at 250V. I am not in a position to collect CAN logs (yet) but I can make diagrams. V3 PCS cont...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Battery Build

Ken, Did you ever finish this project? Did you finalize the development of your crimp type edge connection PCB for the interface between the Telsa Flex PCB Model 3 module to the 3rd Party BMS? I somehow missed the notification on this. The system isn't fully assembled yet (embarrassed to say, but l...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread

I'm beginning the process of integrating my PCS under the hood of my vehicle... I am rewatching Damien's demo video, but in case the answer isn't in there, does anyone know how the shell of the PCS should be grounded? My current mounting solution connects it to chassis (12v) ground, I am wondering i...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread

That's interesting. So pins 10 and 11 are cp can that is not used by the pcs anyway. Sounds like they deleted them from the loom. Pin 12 is a ground that actually needs to be connected to the case of the pcs so I would also suspect they deleted that in favor of just using the case ground. My pin nu...

Update : 20/04/21 : attached pinout and connector data document Can you double check the X420 pinout in your PDF? Yes, came as part of the pack:

Very interesting. That looks considerably easier to deal with than the busbars mine came connected to. What year/region/model was your donor, if you know?

Re: Tesla Model 3 Battery Build

We actually just cut off the ends of the busbars with a cut-off wheel on a dremel tool, then re-used existing holes to attach our own connecting bus bars made from Eriflex flat bus bar material. I don't remember seeing any copper colored material at the cut ends. Very possible they used different m...

Very cool. I am using a model 3 pack in my conversion... my box design is completely different, I will have to do a writeup when I am done. Re: Feasibility of using v3.0 hardware with 120kw enova inverter

Since it sounds like the V2 or V3 openinverter system is an option, am I right in thinking the next step is to determine if the current sensors and gate drivers already present in the inverter are compatible with the brain board?
