Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
That would be awsome, will be good to get params that is constant for the physical stuff like pin swapping and the current sensor gains. In my book none of the phases should align, so the plot above does not make sense to me.

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Plot when in in manual mode with everything set to 0, that amplitude seems high to me, +-15 with no manualid. And il1 and il2 should not be in phase, should they?

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Tried both removing the SINCOS pinswap as well as negating the current sensor settings "ocurlim": -100, "il1gain": -1.81, "il2gain": -1.81 No movement with syncofs=0 and manualid up to 12A on any settings, so maybe I have bricked something. Reports overcurrent. Have not...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
With above settings rotating shaft clockwise (facing the shaft) angle plot goes from low to high. Should it go from high to low, i.e. removing the SINCOS pinswap?

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Maybe add resolver to pinswap? Has anyone compiled parameters that will work with the stock motor? I tried to compile from this thread https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=980&hilit=udc&start=75. The settings I have tried below: Especially unsure about the "il1gain": 1.8...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Had a shot at getting things moving over the weekend, but only rattling/sounds so far and going into DESAT error if too much torque(POT) applied. Resolver input is giving nice plot. Guess there are settings/jumpers that needs to be figured out though... Happy to test things out, only using 48V so pr...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Thanks, both. JRBE, you were on the right track, but still not low enough. 0K5 brought it down to room temperature with the Gen2 profile, but unsure if it fits the old profile from there. Now to some testing with load... Hah, goes opposite direction vs temp so definitely needs new profile in fw and...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Quite simply the curve of the temperature sensor was never measured and programmed into the firmware. Thanks, both. Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
Finally got to this again. One of the 5V pins had lifted off the pad thus disabling UDC and TMPHS measurement. All works as before now. Good one :) With the STM32 in reset it sits at 0.544V instead of the calculated 0.4V. So then I cut the brake jumper and now in reset it sits at 0.75V. With the ma...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 Drop-in board
I'm slowly picking away at the updates to the board as issues are found. glink, when you get some free time can you please double check the 113.5mm dimensions? I drew the board up to 113mm across the top and bottom hole spacing but it looks like it might be 115mm. The .5mm difference won't be enoug...

Re: regen tuning process! [SOLVED]
Thanks, had a look at the code to understand the algorithm, and undrestand now the relationships :-) My problem was that having -25 potnom on the generator side worked fine from 0 RPM and up at given motor side Pot, but not going from 0 potnom to -25 potnom on the generator side wit same Pot on moto...

Re: regen tuning process! [SOLVED]
Hi, tried to wrap my head around the regen setup when testing out on the bench with a "dyno" setup with two em57's against eachother. I want to control the regen with CAN, but I see very different behaviour when regen is controlled by CAN vs when I "set" potnom using offthrotrege...

Re: Leaf EM57 estimated output at different voltage/current
Hi, the settings here has helped a lot. I have set up a "dyno" rig to try to find out how to configure my setup for my boat using only 48V. I'm using Auris inverter (about the same spec as Prius inverter I guess) and Nissan EM57 motor. The KV of the EM57 is 18.46 according to sources, and ...

Re: Does Anyone Have a Prius Gen 3 Inverter, A DC Power Supply, and Some Way of Measuring Output Voltages of The Inverte
I have some recent experience with this and I'm using the boost circutry to boost to 120vdc because I thought I needed it to achieve higer rpm on the Leaf motor, but I'm only able to get 3kw output resulting in about 1000rpm in my setup...asked about this on another thread btw. Have tried boosting t...

Thanks, thought it was the buck-boost hw that might be limiting the amps? Around 60 amps only.

Re: Toyota Auris and Yaris Inverter Logic board
I have a running system in my boat with Toyota Auris Inverter boosting my 48v battery pack voltage into the Leaf em57 motor, but I'm only able to get 3kw out of it. Have tried boosting in the range of 120V to 300V but that does not change real output much. Everything runs smooth and nicely, but expe...

Re: Testing FOC for synchronous motor
First I assume you've calibrated your potmin and potmax. Second, spinning without throttle usually indicates an incorrect syncofs setting. Have you calibrated that yet? Thanks to both! Haven't calibrated anything, I do the POT adjustment with CAN communication. Potmin=0 Potmax=4095 Throtcur=1 No, I...

Re: Testing FOC for synchronous motor
I know this has been answered, but not able to find it. Question is how to control the low speed using the FOC firmware? (Using 5.0 now, but same with previous version) With my setup, I'm not able to start my Nissan Leaf motor from the Toyota Gen 3 inverter unless setting POT to 1300 (out of max 409...

Re: Gen 3 inverter converter control software
Hmm... Reset should happen if the board is built 'properly'. Is there a manual reset you can try? For now, the culprit imho is the FTDI board. Uploaded a sketch with the Atmel ICE, but still no serial I/O. Until I get a new FTDI board I will program using the Atmel ICE, but it's a bit more cumberso...

Re: Gen 3 inverter converter control software
0xf0 - at least you're getting a response. Is the board resetting properly? And have you tried the 'atmega328p (old bootloader)' option? They changed baud rate a year or two ago... EDIT Also be sure you're using the right COM port, COM4 is suspiciously low. Thanks for having a look, have tried the ...

Re: Gen 3 inverter converter control software
I think you have the programming cable in the opposite direction, the gnd (black) should be facing the center of the board and not the edge. The silk screen (white text on the board) should read "blk" where the gnd goes. If none of this works, try swapping rx and tx on the programming cab...

Re: Gen 3 inverter converter control software
Hi, lots of advanced discussions, great! But do we have some descriptions for actually getting the code into the 328p? Nothing here: https://openinverter.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius_Gen3_Board#Atmega328p_Firmware, and I'm having trouble and probably not setting stuff up correctly :-) I think you have the...
