Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
i am trying to built my circuit now....
if i understand correctly your process works like this...
1. you press "brake" to power VCU temporarily
2. you press Start button connected to enable pin
3. VCU commands one relay to latch 12v power to supply itself
4. VCU goes to ready state (or would it be ...

Re: Crazy Idea - Could This Work Instead of Swapping Busbars?
I think this variation will work. But you still need to swap the current and resolver sensors for correct operation. And most importantly, the gearbox is not designed for operation in the opposite direction. The pump pumps only in one direction, and the gears have teeth tilted in the other direction.

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
When I press the brake, power is supplied to the VCU, and if I press the "Start" button while the brake is pressed, the relay to support the 12V power supply is turned on and the VCU goes into "READY" mode. If I press the "Start" button when the engine is not rotating, the VCU turns off the power ...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
teensy 4.0 is a full replacement for teensy 3.6. The pin layout is completely the same, only the processor is more powerfulBad news is the 3.x ones are still a way off by the looks of things, which makes the BMS side of things tricky.

Re: Master CAN module for Hankzor balancers
Thanks for the prompt updates!
It looks like the sales rep I was speaking to didn't really know what they were talking about, so the inbuilt CAN is isolated. Does anyone have the datasheet?
I've ordered a few of these units, different vendor (directly off JK taobao store, JK B2A24S) and would ...

Re: Master CAN module for Hankzor balancers
I've been looking around for BMS options and have landed on this project. I'm trying to prioritize cost and this seems most effective.
Have been in contact with JK-bms sales reps to try to aks more details out of them. Basically the same info that we already have.
From what ive told, the CAN ...

I managed to get 8.7s at one time but i cant repeat this anymore. I dont know what i did.
Did you notice the slow start almost like a rubber band? I guess this takes at least 0.5s from you....

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
Well...
I managed to see what signal EVSE shows to Cp line. And to my surprise it was 56% PWM not 26% as i imagined.
This forced me to add additional variable PWM_sig so that i set limits to my current calculation.
First i read PWM_signal from byte3. Then i check if signal is less than 6% or ...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
OK now i changed from tone to PWM code and it works...sort of :?.
I still get needle to jump by 10km/h. This lets me to belive the problem is not in the code but rather in the CAN bus rutine or chip.
It seems like inverter report does not arrive to VCU in time and so speedo is not updated fast ...

BMS_avgtmp = 0;
BMS_packvoltage = 0.00;
memset(BMS_Volt, 0, sizeof(BMS_Volt));

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
The tone function has another parameter: pulse duration.
tone(pin, frequency, duration)
And also in your code, line 2026 "tone(OUT9, 3000); " what is it for?
You need to enable hardware PWM. The code already contains the library #include "Teensy_PWM.h"
frequency = 10000.0f;

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
I have 84S cells as well. But i use 7 BMS modules. Each BMS module is connected to 12S battery module as this was the easiest. When i connect to CAN lines i can see the FF request going out and i see all 7 modules reporting on the line. Everything is good on the lines but VCU does not read the ...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
Are certain BMSs not included in the array, or is data from one BMS partially missing?
I only use data from cells that are not repeated in the array.
I have an 84 cell battery, 4 pieces of BMS.
