Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
You could just scope the encoder output and count the number of pulses through 1 revolution, not sure what to set resolver pole pairs to when using an encoder.

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
You may require slightly different gains thanks to less than identical component layout? (Just guessing) I’d verify with a current clamp.

Looks like this won’t be an option for me as the longest ratio rx8 diff is 4.3! Lol will be interesting to see what top end you manage

Re: [DRIVING] Project RX8 , Prius gen2, Lexus transaxle to rwd
So good news bad news….. Good news is I can no longer hear how many teeth the diff crown wheel has under regen. Bad news is the diff can’t have been the only thing making a noise so I suspect the gearbox isn’t the healthiest. So that leads to the question find another gearbox or ditch the whole moto...

Finally found a weekend to pull out and replace the diff that’s been complaining louder and louder over the last 3000 miles, new wheel bearings too while I’m at it

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
MIVB and MIWB can just remain unconnected at the inverter end. Not an expert with some firmware as I’ve never used it, I thought the v/hz based firmware doesn’t require current sensor feedback? Using an encoder gives actual rotor speed feedback probably means slip angle can me monitored again no exp...

Re: [DRIVING] Renault Clio Electrique -97
Fair enough, I was just reading up on Toyota sync serial comms and thought of you, reason being I have an rx450h inverter here that I’d like to get working via serial. Not sure how feasible finding the ham commands without a working car to log is going to be, if I do get it working, (I have a spare ...

Re: [DRIVING] Renault Clio Electrique -97
about halfway down this page https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=205&hilit=gs450h+inverter+communication&start=75 arturk mentions he's having difficulty with reverse, using a prius gen3 on gs450 motor a couple of pages later: I did test few things and wanted to share my findings. ...

Re: [DRIVING] Renault Clio Electrique -97
I know this many be a little late but I was reading the gs450h inverter communication thread yesterday and picked up on someone having similar problems to what you encountered when trying to use a Prius gen3 inverter to drive a gs450 motor, turns out the wiring diagram’s for the Prius inverter had c...

Re: GS450h without external oil pump
I was wondering about an accumulator, but without knowing the flow rate of the valve body it would be hard to appropriately size, and yes you’d have 1 shot at pulling away and need to continue moving to refill it, stop start traffic would be impossible. I think the only solution is keep the pump or ...

Re: GS450h without external oil pump
I think if you plan to remove the external pump then you’ll have to find a way to mechanically lock the output into gear, there’s no way those clutches are going to like being slipped, I’ve not had the ga450 transmission apart but it could be as simple as drilling and tapping the housing to wind a b...

Re: [DRIVING] Project RX8 , Prius gen2, Lexus transaxle to rwd
Nothing much in the way of updates, I’ve bought a house so that requires most of me free time, probably a solar panel project coming this summer! I have however acquired an rx450h inverter at a price to good to pass up, I’m hoping to gen it running via serial as over have done for the gs450 and Priu...

Yes I didn’t come into ev’s chasing the eco friendly ideals, in fact with it being -5 here a couple of days ago I have been driving around in a 2.5v6 Mazda bongo rather than trying to get my battery above freezing! But it’s only reinforced how much better I find driving electric
