Tesla SMU (Qty 2) Bay Area, CA USA

After working on my tesla project for years, I had some life changes, a rainstorm, and lots of things happen out of my control that means I have to scrap the project and potentially start again sometime in the future. Life goes on. I'd like the two Tesla SMU that I have to go to someone that can use...

Re: Model 3 High Voltage Controller

Hi Amzoo, have you any photos of the cell tap boards in place on the battery modules and the full BMS setup you have? Looks great. Are you selling those tab boards somewhere? Finally back on this after a hellish end of a year for me. Here is the cell tap board on one of my modules. The Molex connec...

It seems like you're all reading data off the Charge Port CAN. Did I get my pinout wrong or is vehicle CAN not being used for monitoring values?

Re: Need help with LDU inverter firmware download/upload

I can't give any specific information for these boards, but I can hopefully give you more resources. You'll need to pull the memory from all the chips on the board and inject them to the new board, and even then it may not work. I'm not here to say what's possible so feel free to have fun exploring ...

Re: Model 3 High Voltage Controller

Don't have pictures of the full BMS setup as I was in a rush to get things working before moving across the state. Give me a couple days to look through boxes to find them again and I'll take pictures of them sitting on the battery modules later this week. I never populated them with the Molex Conne...

Re: Model 3 High Voltage Controller

I also have these cell tap boards for anyone interested. They use pogo pings to touch onto the battery BMS boards without damaging any of the existing connections. I used them when I used the Orion BMS, but would rather get the Tesla penthouse fully functional.

Re: Tesla Model S Throttle Pedal to 23-pin

Ah, that's why. I use a secondary MCU to process error handling for both brake and throttle inputs and then feed into the board since I use analog control for both. Appreciate the alternate use case.

Re: Tesla Model S Throttle Pedal to 23-pin

While manufacturers use both for redundancy, openinverter only uses one. In my build, I'm reading both signals and using a comparator to make sure the pedal isn't bad, and then feeding into openinverter board. Small correction here: the secondary throttle input can also be used for redundancy. I'm ...

Re: SDU accel/brake/regen

Or on old VWs, it's a pressure switch on the master cylinder. I believe that's the case on my VW T2 bus. In fact there're 2x of them in series for redundancy. Ok so I'll use that on the "Brake Light Switch" - pin15. Still not sure how does brake transducer on pins 7-10-18 come into pictur...

Re: TwinTesla small drive unit

Yes. I'm running SDU front and rear with a long range Model 3 pack. I have my own control board that processes throttle and brake inputs and coordinates motion between the two. Currently testing traction control and adaptive AWD. It uses front motor during low acceleration and 50/50 split during hig...

Re: Tesla Model S Throttle Pedal to 23-pin

Most automotive pedals use a dual hall effect sensor design. Use whatever pedal you want as long as it returns a proportional signal. People are using pedals out of Honda/Toyota/Telsa/BMW. I use a Subaru STI pedal to avoid paying the insane price increases on used Tesla parts. The pinout is not stan...

I think there's enough here for me to get started. Off to the dismantlers I go. Pen Test Partners detail the comm connections as ethernet only to the ID. Still not sure why there are CAN pins on the Tesla wiring diagram though. I'll crack it open and figure out where they lead. Pen Test Partners ID/...

Perfect, thanks! Was planning on sticking with the MCU1. I might try to decompile and recompile the original linux kernel. Tesla Instrument Cluster (IC) Center Display (CID/MCU) Retrofit

I'm currently trying to figure out if it would be possible to run the Tesla instrument cluster and center display in a EV conversion. I was planning to make my own with a Jetson Nano (~$40), 12.3" LCD (~$120), 16-17" touchscreen (~$200), CAN bus peripherals, and cooling. I'd be into it for...
