Re: 1974 Ford Capri
I'm guessing the transmission will not fit, I have a built T5 in there that needed the tunnel modified to fit. As I'm not limited to a shifter hole I should be able to keep moving it forward until I get the desired elevation and driveline angles. As I have an 8.8 solid rear on leaf springs I'm cons...

Also, I finally got around to changing my get_torque code to incorporate @Bryson one-pedal(ish) driving code. Wow! What a difference it makes in the smoothness of my drivetrain! Thanks @Bryson !

Re: Suitable Precharge resistor for GS450h inverter
What is your battery voltage and your precharge dc switch voltage settings? I also get this error (thottle12diff) on when throttle is pressed below half, could you be having a solution for this? I am using the GS450h VCU, not the Zombiverter if that matters. My voltage is 252-344 empty to full (not...

I have not had any issues with the contactors thus far. I think I pull maybe 550 amps peak.joeflickers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 3:44 am hi,id love to know if your leaf contactors are able to hold with the gs450 setup, what is your maximum current? I used the same nissan leaf gen1 contactor but all result into permanent shut welding

Even when we say "finished", are we really ever truly done? Needed to make a special tool to change out the front springs on the 660e.

I think most of us are winging it. I have no programming, electronics, or fabrication skills beyond what is self taught. I've learned just enough of each thing to do the things I need to do. We totally get it.

Re: Oil pump controller/oil pump overheating [SOLVED]
You don't really need to connect the gearbox solenoid connector at all, unless you want to be able to change between Low and High. I run my oil pump at 35% and I've never noticed any slipping. You can try turning off the PWM when MG1_spd gets over a certain point (say 1000rpm), but not sure how succ...

How does your tach currently receive the signal for RPMs? I am sending MG2 Spd to an Arduino and displaying that on a custom Nextion display. But knowing how your tach works is the starting point.

Re: Packard 1956 with Lexus GS450H
there should have been a long skinny radiator as well. Good for running the coolant loop through the electronics. I second the shifter since the throw is already perfect for the gear selector on the side of the tranny. Maybe you can incorporate it into a custom center console. Having all the origina...

Re: GS450H VSS wiring polarity
I believe the one with the red dot (pink?) is positive but it's been some time since I worked on this bit. If you spin the transmission up, you can read the voltage off the leads (AC if I remember correctly).

Hi, I read on another thread somewhere you were exploring using the GS450H VSS to drive your Speedo. Did you achieve this? If so, how? Thanks Yes, I have a digital signal converter that drives my mechanical speedometer. The GS450h has a 15 tooth exciter ring and you have to know things like tire di...

A quick update: I have the car mostly stripped. The dang ICE motor is still in it though for the time being. Have ordered an Inverter + transmission from Sendico but it has not been a straight forward process. We'll see if/when I get them and how much they cost. A side note- I found some Enerdel ba...

Re: Cabin heating
If it helps anyone, I'm using a HotStart block heater to heat coolant that flows through a Restomod Air combo heat/AC unit (separate cores). HV power is fused and flows through a HV contactor that is controlled by an Arduino Nano in my HVJB. The Nano gets "Heat" ? over CAN from an Arduino ...

I am also using that pump and have no issues with flow. I did have to run it quite some time to get all the air out of it. It will get very quiet once all the air is gone.

Seems like you could fit 10 Tesla Model S modules in that space. Could give you 40+ kWh. Even more if you want to add some to the trunk or where the gas tank is.

I think that's somewhat normal. I've noted the Orion BMS tells my charger to charge to a slightly lower voltage than what I've set the parameters to.
