Model 3 front drive unit specifications
Hi All, Does anyone have the specs for the model 3 front drive unit, or can post a link on where to find them? I'll put them on the wiki then. I'm mostly interested in the power figure and dimensions (or even a 3d model?) to decide on whether to look at using the front or rear for the next step of m...

Re: Project RX8 , Prius gen2, Lexus transaxle to rwd
Love to see a pick when installed. When I upgrade my batteries, i'd like to use a solution like that in mine. Maybe re-instate the original boot floor to make it look a bit more legit. Probably cheaper to just buy another rx8 instead though!

Re: Project RX8 , Prius gen2, Lexus transaxle to rwd
I'm amazed how much you can fit in the boot. Really nice design. Cutting the boot floor out of mine seems like something of a mistake now!

SOLD Classic Mini Unfinished Conversion Project
Hi all, I'm considering selling my 1981 austin mini. This mini was converted to electric years ago using a DC motor mated to the original gearbox, and using lead acid batteries. The car is registered in the UK with fuel type electric. The original conversion parts have all been sold, and some repair...

[SOLD] E46 BMW Touring plus parts for conversion.
Hi All, I'm planning on selling my 2001 BMW e46 Touring, which I had planned to convert. Note that this is an 'X' reg car, meaning it's a pre-2001-rule-change car, so it can be re-registered as an EV in the UK. It's still got the 330d diesel engine in it, and works great, but I don't have time now t...

Was it much of a mission to chance the heating element in the cabin? Is it a dash-out job?

Do you have any pics of the rear mount for the gearbox? I'm considering converting my e46 touring. I've already got the is300h gearbox and inverter, so keen to see how it fits.

Re: UK IVA Modifications
Thanks for the explanation on the Q plate issue. I'm relieved to hear that it's more of a historical / social issue rather than any sort of technical / legal reason for not wanting one, although I'm sure insurance would likely be less readily available and more expensive. For me personally I don't e...

Re: UK IVA Modifications
I've read your thread on the mini forum. Sorry to hear about your situation. There's no chance my car will not need an IVA, as i've cut the boot floor and drilled multiple holes. One thing which I'm curious about is why having a 'Q' plate is so bad? Are there significant tax / legal / insurance impl...

Re: UK IVA Modifications
Well my car will be a good showcase to answer many of these questions when it is inspected by the DVLA. It is modified in the following ways: 1. Chassis rails drilled for a new gearbox mount 2. Boot floor replaced to accommodate a battery box. 3. Rear subframe added new diff mount 4. Front subframe ...

Hi All, I've got 10 1.2kwh mitsubishi outlander modules for sale. I broke a pack down in preparation for my conversation so these are individual modules plus the wiring harness if you buy them all. Re: UK IVA Modifications
If random brackets are welded onto parts of the chassis or monocoque, any idea how they'd be treated? Is it clear if that would be considered an altered chassis? I presume so but different to cutting sections out of a chassis! This is the thing. I asked what *degree* of modification constitutes &qu...
