Re: Nissan Leaf PDM teardown
Hey Guys, hope everyone are all good. Still working on the project and making some progress. At the moment, I am working on the AC charging, getting the specific CAN message that is required in order to activate the charging. I’m using the ZombieVerter VCU with 2.05.A, the original type2 connection ...

Re: Gen 2 DC-DC Converter & Charger?
Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well. I seem to be having an issue with my DCDC converter on the gen 3 model. I’m using the zombie VCU, which should apparently be sending the CAN messages that’s required automatically, however nothing appears to be happening. I’ve checked the CAN options on zombie,...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Basically yes, the board is a heavily modified Arduino Due so you’ll want to make sure you have Arduino Due Native USB available in the boards manager. You’ll also want to download all of the library files referenced at the top of the code. If it’s your first time configuring the board you may want...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Today I tried to do this operation myself on my Gen1 inverter. I have previously tested out the Arduino and CAN-comunication with a Gen2 inverter and everything worked like expected. When I now do the same operation won't the motor turn on my Gen1, what I think might be broken on my Gen1 is the vol...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 inverter
So, I thought I do some testing with an Arduino Due on the Gen 3 Stack, I’ve programmed the Arduino Due and got things connected. Question: Is it possible to use the Olimex ESP 32 Wi-Fi module to access the data on the Due? Would it be transferring information over to the open inverter web GUI? I’ve...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 inverter
yes. zombiverter or some board working as a canbus man in the middle. the basic throttle messages are the same for gen1, 2 and 3 leaf inverters. Thanks Bratitude, I thought of it, but just wondering weather it’s a bit of an overkill considering is’s only going to be specific used for transferring/c...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 inverter
So I've managed to replay some can messages to the Leaf Stack and OMG I scared the hell out of myself LOL, It just took off, luckily I only played replayed for a short time and at 100ms, I realised that sending the same messages for 5ms will just prolong the playback, which can make things very inte...

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen3 inverter
Hi All, So I've managed to drag my 2019 110Kw stack into the house to work on it, and got the wiring connected, however I can't seem to get much response out of it, I monitoring CAN and get IDs 0x1DA 0x120 and 0x55A for about 5 seconds then nothing. I've tried supplying power to the inverter separat...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Hi Damien,
Does this process work the same way for the Gen 3 Stack?
It appears that the inverter and PMU have separate CAN Pairs in the Gen 3 stack Are they tied together and then connected the the CAN on the ZombieVerter?

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
No, Prius gen2 controller, actually controls the inverter logic and intelligent gate drives, the leaf inverter can be controlled with just simple can commands Yes, I have the whole stac including the charger, which I’ll also need to figure how to control. Anyways, That’s grate news, thanks guys, I’...

Hi All, So I’ve been struggling to get my car project on the road and there has been a few think restricting this, space and Cooling being the main ones. FWIW, the PIDs in the scanner requests probably match the ones shown here: https://github.com/JejuSoul/OBD-PIDs-for-HKMC-EVs Thanks projectgus, My next step is to find the CAN messages the operates the contractors in the contractor box, and I'm guessing that there are specific ID from the inverter ...

Re: Hyundai IoniQ 2020 HV battery pack
Hi Guys, Just thought I'd do an update on reading the information from the BMU. So i've managed to connect a Bluetooth OBD11 to the device's pinout and use CarScanner on an android device to view the cells information on the pack, and the cells seem to be in good shape. I have all the connections to...

Re: Hyundai IoniQ 2020 HV battery pack
Huh, that looks like the same plug but with different pins populated in the centre rows. I guess it was too much to hope that they'd make the packs plug-and-play swappable. If you've got the battery pack open then you can probably have a look behind this connector to see some of the connections (CA...

Re: Hyundai IoniQ 2020 HV battery pack
Nice stuff! I have a crashed 2019 Kona sitting outside. I'm hoping to run the full BMS in a transplanted vehicle (rather than going one layer down and talking to the the cell monitor units, as some others on here are successfully doing.) I am hoping the battery pack control would be similar between...

Re: Hyundai IoniQ 2020 HV battery pack
I used car scanner to check details on a 2018 28kwh , I would imagine you might be able to try and splice into the can lines and 12v to see if it works with a obd socket spliced on , I found a can log online for a 28kwh if that's of any use to you. Hi, Yes definitely looking into this and will shar...
