Re: V1 Board Enova Encoder error
I got dust in the encoder wheel on my HEDS sensor, didn't show up on scope most of the time (hand turning) but generated a lot of errors at times while driving. See Substation1 in projects...

Re: Prius Gen2 adapter board development thread
Thanks for corrections. MG2 = MIVA and MIVB What I am trying to understand, is the PWM signals. They exit the Inverter and are sent to the V3 board. The inputs cannot be reveived in their original voltages (12v), hence the ULN2003 to convert to 3.3v? V3 board sends PWM signals to inverter but they ...

Re: Sub-station 1
Fitted a new encoder to my enova motor today. Have had some problem with dust blocking either the slots in the encoder disk or the sensor itself. Have blown it out with compressed air to some success previously but two weeks ago it didn't clear the problem anymore. I will probably go with aber333's ...

The schematic's i found indicate a fuse in/or around the service pluggdisconnect.. Have never touched a lexus my self, but my prius, gen 0 has it inside the service plug disconnect socket on the battery pack if i remember correctly.

" using basic dc-dc converter?"
In this case i think a simple resistor divider is the way to go, it gives you a linear scaling of the voltage.

As JaniK brought solar panels up, I'll hijack the thread for one question that dosn't (yet) seem worthy of a full thread: I've been considering solar panels for my conversion (it's a van, can fit multiple square meters), but I'm concerned about electrical isolation. It feels totally wrong to have s...

Re: Series/Parallel cooling loops
I am interested in your reservoir setup, there are a few things which confuse me. How do you bleed the system without water actively passing through the reservoir? How do you release trapped air? There is a bleed vent on the top connection of the heater core, but yea, I have had to bleed it a coupl...

Substation 1 has one tank and two systems for now...
I had it in series first but didn't get enough heat from motor and inverter to make a (positiv) difference on cabin heating, they more likely acted as radiators and made the heater work harder...- Tue Feb 04, 2020 3:42 pm

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
I highly recommend going with a).
I did b). and c). and d). Lost a lot of time on that..
You will need to tune your motor in your car "on the road" also , not only on the bench..

This reminds me about a similar problem i had on my Enova controller board (different hardware i know, but same designer). The signals from the current sensors/opamp were so high that the IL1,IL2 lines from the mcu hit their maximum of ≈3,3v well before actual motor current reached it's maximum. My ...

In substation 1 i'm using ardustim to fake crank and cam signals to keep the ecu happy (1200rpm) but on this one i will try to send the required messages to the power steering and remove the ECU. ECU wants to have control over EGR valve, throttle valve, fuel suction valve, turbo pressure valve and s...

More dumb beginner questions. Current roadblocks: 1 - Can't figure out what parts to buy to populate the Prius board. I just lack the context of the circuit to know what to order from some of the items in the BOM, as listed above. Also, what connectors I would need to interface with the controller....

Arber - What's wrong with Damien's method, a big bar of steel? Go walk up to a chainlink fence and warm it up a little :p Yes well i was trying to make more permanent solution. Re: Sub-station 1
I bought Sub-station 1 in February in Arvidsjaur, indeed from Blocket, it's a 09.
Sub-station 2 is not my own, i'm only helping out with the conversion but it's a 09.
They pop up everywhere, ≈1000€ some times half of that.
It's mostly 2008 and 2009 some 2010, and rumour says even 2011. All diesel.
