Re: Teardown - Tesla LDU - Inverter [SOLVED]
I just picked up another LDU, which I knew had a mechanical failure. Upon opening it up, I can see some signs of IGBT failure. Where/what do I need to measure to confirm a blown power stage? I know it's been discussed before but I could not find it. Did answer you on PM also, put this is answer her...

Re: Tesla PCS Settings DC-DC
That is strange. Based on this and my PCS struggles (will only pull up to about 2kW, regardless of station), I think Tesla must have/continue to change firmware on the PCS, hence the various non working or partially working PCSs out there. Okay that's sad to hear, I can adjust the wattage of the ch...

Re: Tesla PCS Settings DC-DC
I've had mine continue operating below that voltage and above those temps. Is it possible something is physically coming loose during a hard launch that isn't visible sitting still? I have done a 300km ride to get the battery low enough, when i was home again the battery was at 312volt and neither ...

Re: Tesla PCS Settings DC-DC
I don't see any lower voltage setting on my PCS webinterface, though I suppose there might be one hard coded. What errors are you seeing in the error log, and what is your pack voltage range? I suppose the settings is in the background somewhere, I have logged the hvdc voltage and around 344vdc it ...

Tesla PCS Settings DC-DC
Hello Have a little question regarding some settings in the PCS controller Sometimes when i do a hard launch the DC-DC to 12v stops, then i need to deaktivate relay to get it going again, The problem is that the voltage drops and i think the pcs have som limitation in the controller Thnx in advance =)

Check datasheet to each components, there you vill be able to get a hint of valid measurements regarding operation.
Look at mouser or similar

Re: Teardown - Tesla LDU - Inverter [SOLVED]
Hello We have an Tesla P85 inverter with some damaged IGBT in one phase of the inverter, we change all the IGBT of this phase and test the 3 power phase and i think all is ok, we resold all the parts in the phase control card of the phase have the damaged IGBT, but the inverter not work, the messag...

Hello, long time since i had my pcs connected, Did a quick test and installed the latest firmware. First i tested the dcdc and success then both and also success
Attached pictures from computerscreen.
3phase 400v @ 10,6kw I think every needed value is valid.
Amazing work

Re: LDU inverter gate drive PCB fault finding [SOLVED]
Hello When I repaired the three pcbs, i digged deep In the manual to the igbt controller pdf. https://www.mouser.se/ProductDetail/726-1ED020I12FA2XUM I traced down fault at the igbt and transistors/mosfets. And resistors/diodes between igbt controller and transistors/mosfet. A litte error will be fa...

Re: Teardown - Tesla LDU - Inverter [SOLVED]
If you replaced just the IGBTs with ones with a higher amperage rating, could you in theory increase power output of the inverter? Or is there something else that would prevent that? That's what they did in the sport version just as remy_martian said, i don't think the design can handle more power,...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread
Did a quick test with the new firmware and the dcdc converter did not work this time, but we can skip that for now.. Lets focus on charger :D Also read the can message. 0X3A4 @ 01 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 Getting error bit 16 on page 1, which would mean PCS_a73_unexpectedAcInputVoltage according to Dami...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread
I think I have the grounds covered. I have the 12V connection, I have the casing grounded, and I have all the grounds connected on the control board. Som part of the PCS must be waking up because I am seeing the correct HV reported in the web interface. I will go through it again to make sure I did...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread
So I've checked a few more things: - I redid my PCS plug wiring to make sure the connections were solid, that's not the issue. I'm not seeing any resistance across IPC CAN (pins 4+5 of the control board 12pin connector). Should there be a termination resistor here? My PCS is P/N 1093219-10-G. Damie...

Before we fixed the multiplexing error i also got very high acvoltage, and the uhv(dcvolt) switch between low and high voltage. That's also how my web interface looks when it's not "enable" As fast as i "enable" via input 1, all readings came up and the "Opmode" turns to run. Ok this may be what I'm missing: Do I need to apply 12V to input 1? I hadn't seen that documented anywhere. Yes, I did n...

I'm trying to use the PCS essentially standalone, not looped in with other systems' CAN. I'll get some screen shots of settings and spot values this morning. Alright so I've got my PCS wired up and no luck yet. Question: Do I need to change the PIN setting, and if so where do I find what my PCS needs? Do you use software from Johu or Damien? Yes think we did come very far with the STM32 software :D After some weeks of programming and optimizing the PCS controller shows all values correct. Even the dcdc converter works at full power. maximum draw so far is: 14v@200A The only problem left is that the charger wont start, think we need you ...
