There are many good reasons for an electric conversion, e.g. to keep (beloved) existing vehicles on the road longer and to save resources. The technology and the fun of such a project are also appealing. But an EV conversion is a challenge that needs to be carefully considered. Our book does not answer all questions in regard to electric conversions. But using a 1993 Volvo 850 as an example, we guide the reader through the most important steps with the help of 250 photos and diagrams. The Volvo conversion relies heavily on the installation of used components. It cannot therefore be transferred one-to-one to other models and to conversion concepts based on new components. But anyone who is thinking about giving their "old" car a second life will have the necessary knowledge after reading the book to make an informed decision for or against their own project.
