I'm guessing the plug for the inverter data is unobtanium as per the gs450h ?

Drain hole as usual at the bottom in the pan.

The filler hole on the side and it is also an indicator of the required level.

Ooft - just got prices back from my local Toyota dealer for those parts - all ex VAT at 20%.

90980-12992 £23.25 each
90980-09871 £6.16 each
82998-24250 £7.16 each
82998-24420 £20.25 each

FYI I added these part numbers to the wiki

You only need the connector housing from toyota. There are two pin sizes both available for a few bucks from Aliexpress :

Congratulations Damien!

So... a question many will be reading later: Could we (hypoteticaly) use the GS450h inverter to run IS300h drivetrain and VS? Are they similar enough?

I see plenty of inverters P/N similar enough

Question about resolver pinout, the numbers in the picture here (viewtopic.php?p=35989#p35989 ) don’t correspond to the cable side of the resolver connectors, which way around is the correct way?

(Suppose an easier Q to ask is are the temp sensors on the left side of the cable side of the or the right side?)

Also ignore the fact that I only have 6 wires coming out, old pic

Yep I came across this also. If I remember the temp sensors are on the wrong side of the plug in the diagram. You can tell by doing a resistance mesurement.

So just to confirm the temp sensors are the 2 I’ve left out in the photo? (Which makes sense as this pair has a reading in k ohms, all the others are in ohms)

I got one too :)

Whilst waiting for connectors to turn up I took a look at and buzzed out the gear selector switch:

part number: 89451-30010
Connector: SUMITOMO 90980-12362
Position 1 being the sprung return and 5 being park
Pin 3 is common, you can see there is a direct connection to a pin for each position and a secondary connection to either 2,5,9 this could be used as an error check
Pin numbers as per drawing:

Hi Guys
Very Exciting thread this. Got myself a L210 + Matched inverter. Plugs / Connectors on order. Still need to buy a Zombie Verter. Just getting the parts together for a build.

In doing so thought about the Cooling of the whole lot.
Would it be completely daft to run the L210 gearbox cooling line through the inverter cooling plate and then to radiator and back to the gearbox?

Could ATF damage the inverter cooling loop? Seems like a good enough plan. As long as the gearbox spins the ATF Cooling loop will be moving. Not sure if the pump is more high pressure than high flow though and if that would actually matter?

If this is not the right section , please move or delete it. Or file under Dumbass Ideas.
Thanks

Use a plate heat exchanger, that's what Tesla do.

Oil to water (glycol).

Hi, I have a question; would it make any sense to add a 3rd electric motor, like a Nissan EM61? Mounted where the ICE was?
I can imagine that it will be added power to the drive train and perhaps by controlling various motors in the system make it more efficient (?)
Anyway, just a thought.

The L210 already has two motors in it. The bigger MG2 motor is officially rated at 105kw. But that's probably a conservative figure given that the L210's older brother, the L110, has been tested up to, I think, 350kw. And given the similarities between the two, the L210 can probably do a lot more than 105kw. So, unless you're building some crazy beast, adding another motor wouldn't give you anything extra. Plus, you'd need another inverter to run the 3rd motor.

Hi Chrkly,
Thanks for your input, yes, with that kind of power already coming from the L210 it make not much sense I guess,.
I was just thinking, the ICE is there doing something (charging the battery I guess), why not replace that with an electric motor, but if it make things over complicated it might be too much.
