@Jack; During that video had you just activated and enabled the power supply and then after a time the CAN enabled matched your VAC input?

Can you check for me the pcb versions of the charger modules?
Are those the same? It would also nice to know if the wiring harness is the same, again the partnumbers.

Mains is applied at a specific time in the capture as the charger expects it to appear in about a 1 second window. See the software here for more detail:

That's not my question. Let's retry :).
On the bench you had +12 and +5vdc to the charger enable and the charger active correct?

Then you replayed the log and within a timezone you enable the HVVAC ...

I know that within the 4xC is the charger enable bit. With what we know now it looks like the timing of the VAC is related to the enable charger bit in the 4xC message do you agree? Or are you aware of this?

Another question. The small LED's on the units blink one time while turning on, is this normal behavior or should they stay lit?
(It's like a power dip blink that's why I ask).

Ok thanks. Ok well here my brief results then. I have had it clicking two times. then you saw some kind of state machine like movement going on.
My theory was that the battery was already topped up. So i discharged it with my boiler setup. after that and some other changes i lost track of it.
There is also a 25B message which if i'm correct isn't present in the car. It spits out a puzzle piece because at the start its 00 00 and suddenly it starts giveing data, like a time-out way of reporting something.

If i compare software between a supercharger and a normal charger they seem tobe the same (need todo more checks though). so there must be a config or hardware difference somewhere (hence why i asked for PartNumers!!! some are still pending confirmation.....!!!!)

The fault reporting on the supercharger version is strange too. several faults don't report a fault or warning.
Since the setup in the field is with 12 of them. I think that we are missing important pieces of the interface.
I would expect that the bigest difference in software is in the board we replaced. the phase boards have differences in that HV is contactor present, not always. Line power is always present. etc...

food for thought. 0x25B if anyone knows let me know.

Folks, trying to get GEN2 charger to work but it seems to be broken or perhaps not compatible/supported.
It is model 1014963-00-C from vehicle and not from supercharger.

Description of the issue:
viewtopic.php?p=29667#p29667

Did anyone get this model/revision (1014963-00-C) to work?

First thing i found is that the Tesla board has 60Ohm on the CAN-Bus we got 120Ohm.
Don't know if at high burst it will screw-up the canbus but its an easy fix. It means that the charge modules it self aren't terminated.

For the rest the board is flashed (needed to setup this STLink dongle stuff), transplanted the OEM connectors (dammn tricky stuff), charger is connected (one module to single phase 240VAC).

Tomorrow i proceed with powering it up using 12volts and giveing it some custom firmware.

Plan: I first am gonna try to get one module up and running, then with 3 at a time.

Can anyone publish there hardware numbers/versions?
Just to check if those are the same albeit the cover has a different number?

(1014963-05-B spcharger POS#2)
- Controlboard Tesla : 1026865-00-D REV02
- Charge module : (1026696-00-G)
- Molex Side Print version: (1020419-01-C REV3)
- Board Cable Part Nr: (1017601-00-B)
Does someone has the same charge module?

Came upon this : https://www.ebay.de/itm/234267863745

If it is what I think it is it might contain the necessary CAN to control all these supercharger chargers.

Yeah true, the question is what do we need to feed it....

In the end the order of connecting VAC and DC is reversed In a super charger...

Interesting. It bears a striking resemblance to the Tesla Gateway module used in the Toyota RAV4 EV 2012-14.

Pics of the Supercharger Gateway Module from that eBay ad:

Pic of mine in a 2014 RAV4 EV. Even has the antenna connector:
Tesla Vehicle Gateway Module, 1010386-00-C
Tesla Vehicle Gateway Module, 1010386-00-C
The blue OBDII port is not part of that Gateway Module, it's merely bolted near it, and its harness is part of the Toyota harness.

Resurrecting zombie topics! Just in time for Halloween!

I recently tried to get a G revision charger from a crashed Tesla to work. No go. It would kind of work but really only one module then that module would click off, then come back, over and over. I replaced the charger with an E revision (took the V5 damien board from one and transplanted to the other) and that one works like a charm. So, it's not just old chargers or chargers from super chargers. Something is different in some chargers.

I captured CAN data from both chargers while they were running to see if there's a reason why one works and one does not. Here is so far what I found:

The good charger has IDs 0x337, 0x339, and 0x33B which the bad charger does not have
The bad charger has IDs 0x467, 0x469, and 0x46B which the good charger does not have

Otherwise all the same traffic is there. To me, this suggests that they changed the firmware revision on the three sub modules at some point. It's possible that too old or too new causes it to not work reliably. The G revision charger was in a car until sometime around 2021 or 2022 and likely everything in the car was running the latest firmware as of that point. I have no idea how/why that would matter but maybe it does.

In the Model S years, Tesla changed CAN IDs and message payloads fairly often, via the OTA updates. It's a moving target.
