Nice Purchase. The 3 phase plug to connect to the gearbox is hard to find and the cables are expensive. I purchased the cable from a scrap yard in Germany but it was still expensive. I am sure you will find a better soloution?

Picked up a HV cable, loom and shifter from a local scrap yard for 150 Euros. Considering what some are charging for a tarted up forklift motor and controller then that doesn't seem too bad to me.

This is nice, i had just been reading all post and looking on all video's for the Lexus GS450h gearbox and then i started thinking; how does BMW drive it hybrid cars? And here is the answer, would be great to convert my E30 to electric.

Did anything ever come of this? I've been thinking about this project myself.

Considering it just seems to be me working on this and I have 50 projects queued up then it will be done when I get to it.

Does this atx have Remy motor inside?
If yes they are capable at least 100kW continuously...

Had a quick dig and found some stuff not mentioned here from what I have seen.

This appears to be the box that BMW are using on ZF's site, According to the data here it contains a 90KW peak motor, 250NM torque. Integrated Pump and the motor is water/oil cooled. Also has a cutout view which may be of use.

Another site here has a good breakdown of multiple internal parts, Five internal clutches, I presume one is to decouple the ICE as mentioned in the ZF listing, the rest to switch internal gear ratios? There are four planetary gearsets inside so presume various combinations used to get 8 speeds.

Just posted in my project thread but I have the motor doing what it's supposed to do. I'd been working with a failing current sensor from day one. Now that it's fixed, all's well.
