During my trip to evbreakers yesterday I had high hopes of logging a just arrived 2025 ID4. Sadly it would seem that despite investing in a Peak CANFD just for this task, Johannes's favorite automaker had other ideas. As soon as I connected to the powertrain can the car started beeping angrily and only produced the attached log. This was despite having savvycan in listen only etc.
Now doing something like that to me is a big mistake so am arranging with Evbreakers to get that car down here to hq once they strip it of parts they can sell so fairly soon I'll have a driving shell of a 2025 id4 here to examine and make no mistake that drive unit is going to run.

I wonder if this is part of VWs component locking bs, https://www.jalopnik.com/2122451/volksw ... mpossible/
Re: VW ID4 CAN Log Misadventure
Or maybe their CAN HW implementation is as flakey as their software and that one extra load was too much... (full disclosure, I own an ID.4)

Might do yeah. Will be a few weeks anyway by the time they get the car stripped and I arrange transport so plenty of time to research and plan.
