What might this substance be?

Hi,
I opened a Corsa-E battery pack today and all went well, except I noticed this 'greasy' spot on the bottom of the shell. The highest point is underneath a plastic bit of the fuse/contactor but it extends to underneath the battery modules. At first I thought it might be coolant but it doesn't really have any smell and my best guess is that it is some kind of grease that was on the stud. worst case it's something that leaked from a module and I did touch it. Modules all look fine and all measure 23.4v. Maybe somebody has a clue?
