i use the zombie for all sorts of projects, and generally recommend it to customers. the zombie wiring is 95% the same across the board...so why am i making custom wiring harnesses for every project?..... and some customers are overwelled(ironically by wiring in a EV conversion).
why not just make a "universal" harness?
what i need is a box with everything:
zombie, dedicated connectors, pre-fused, powered, and mounted.
but needs to be flexible enough for adding more connectors or devices to the zombie...without having to rewire everything...
which has resulted in this:
features:
-OBD-ii port
-little fuse PDM
-deutsch DT connectors
-dedicated power deutsch DTP connector
each connector will be pre wired with the necessary can, power, signals, etc so just plug in throttle, inverter, start/run/direction, contactors, etc and you have a up and running ev system.
also found the alibaba case kinda sucks, as half the time you dont get a seal and they dont have great mounting tabs.
so designed a 3d printable case:

Some updates!
I’ve built a few iterations now of these zombie “backpack” if you will, and ended up with this:
I’ve designed a tray cut out of stainless steel that snap fits and bolts to the original metal case.
Water tight fuse and relay box, OBD-ii header and dedicated connectors for:
Throttle, switches, inverter, charger, battery, auxiliarys, power
Makes for virtually a plug and play ev system. Builds on the zombie ethos, pick your parts, plug them in, select them in the web interface and they work
More work todo on documentation, and finalizing wiring.
Will release the tray design files shortly and built backpacks in my webshop soon

How is the CAN wired to each plug? With an arrangement like this you could end up with a "star" network, if the branches are long enough things can start to behave wierdly.

definitely something I’ve been thinking about, right now have battery on one bus and the charger/inverter on the other.
Should note that currently configured for non- Toyota based system, not that it couldn’t be setup for it.
I’ll likely offer them in different configs based on user selected setup

Nissan Leaf does not work like that. It shall all be on the same bus.

Just a note for if you sell to someone who is and has issues.

Yes, at this point not entirely “universal” but each will be tweaked depending on customer setup.
Definitely a challenge to try and cover as many combinations as possible
Appreciate the feedback back
