So I'll be using one of those claw clutches (KTR Rotex GS 38) to connect the Leaf motor shaft to the VW transmission.
Question is, what have you guys done to prevent it from sliding back and forth or even come apart?

Years since i used one and what i did was use some metal loaded epoxy to form a "stop" on the splines. Not sure it would last though as i ended up going solid coupler.

I used a clutch bearing. It was just enough space to fit. Also from the back i used some shims to close it up so there is some 5mm between bearing and couipling end. Since i used thermal fit splines were so tight i had to hammer the coupler on the shaft. Bearing is more of a backup...
See this for assembly

And this is the photo of it behind the coupler

EDIT:
To clamp down on the splines i would recommend you cut one side of the coupler (not the one one the photo but the one with the splines) and drill a hole in the side. Then machine M6 threads in it to join the cut side and squeeze it on the shaft.
