I have a few Tesla Model S 24V batteries that Im not planning to use for at least a year.'
What are the best practices for storing them in the garage safely?

For a years storage don't worry too much about the charge level as long as its between around 20-80% SOC, make sure they are kept cool. Below 40deg c but way better would be between 0-20deg.
