Retrofitting Lithium-Ion Battery in BMW F10 525d

Hi everyone,
I own a BMW F10 525d, which currently has a 105 Ah Varta AGM battery from the factory. I’m considering retrofitting it with a Lithium-ion battery but I’m aware that there are several factors to consider, especially regarding the vehicle’s control unit that manages charging and current flow. All I sparingly know is that there is some kind of ECU in between alternator that decides how much to charge the battery
I’ve searched around and couldn’t find anyone who’s done this specific mod on a BMWs. I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has experience with this kind of retrofit or could provide guidance on what I need to learn or check before proceeding with this modification.
Any insights on the control unit compatibility, potential issues, or required modifications would be greatly appreciated!
