LIN based CCS

Just an idea... If we want to build some personal DC chargers it is kind of bulky to equip them with the PLC stuff. So been thinking to run LIN over the CP line. Wasn't that even Teslas take on their V1 superchargers?

So as an option, say the PP resistor has value x then we change over to LIN comms. As a finishing touch we can use the CHAdeMO data format on the LIN objects :)

Not meant to be included with the vanilla Foccci/Clara! Mainly for personal satisfaction to show "the world" how CCS should have been done to start with ;)

If we follow SAE J3068 (discussed here viewtopic.php?p=67644#p67644) we could even charge an OEM car (in theory, most likely there is no).
But to charge (or discharge) your visiters car, it would be more helpful to build a real CCS box for home use. But yes, this would be a nice demonstration: Charge with the PLC CCS, then remove the PLC modems and show that it works the same way via LIN :-)

Thanks, had missed that one.

Still most visitors cars run on oil, some weird substance that I can't produce at home ;)

That said, for me personally there will be no point in using a custom charger once I've done the 11 kW MG upgrade

Tesla does this for AC:

- Digital comms via Single Wire CAN on CP, if no response time out and go to PWM -12V +12V like other charger.

You could just do this with SWcan and even just run chademo protocol ;)

You could mount the MG charger to the wall and add a CCS plug. Saved weight on the road.

Sorry I can't seem to find this explained by what are LIN and CP lines?
