Prius contactor AEV6910A G3843 47020 [SOLVED]

Does anyone have an info on the battery contactors from the Gen2 Prius? I believe the Toyota part number is G3843-47020. Made by Matsushita, branded NAIS, AEV6910A.

I haven't been able to find a datasheet. I'm intererested in current handling capacity, whether they have a built in economiser or whether that can be done externally, and if they contain a flyback diode.

Any info gratefully received, thanks in advance.

I think they're the same as used in the UX300E. I will have to double check tomorrow in the light. The UX300E is rated for 150kw peak at 355V

So the main contactors in the UX300E are AEVH900122 M07 G3843-10010 then the smaller ones are AEVT760122 G3843-47050 and G3841-48030 (precharge)

TL;DR: 80A continutous, no economiser, no flyback.

I found this link https://www.batterydesign.net/toyota-pr ... 2-battery/ which describes the battery pack, and given the contactor in question protects said pack we can infer some details. It says the pack has a peak power output of 30kW for 1s, which is about 150A, and 21.2kWh for 10s, which is nearer 105A.

The link also states the battery contactors are rated for 80A, and it does link to a similar but not the same product number at Mouser again showing 80A.

They don't appear to have an internal economiser but the release voltage is low so as far as I understand these things one could use an external one on it if needs be. No mention of flyback diode either so best to assume there isn't one.

I think this contactor must be deprecated as I can't find the PN anywhere.
