Tesla Charger Gen 2 AC Present trouble

Hey all,
I'm using the Tesla Gen 2 Charger with Damian's board and things seem to be working for the most part, but I can't get the AC Present (Pin A1) to do anything. I'm using it to control the negative coil side of a standard 12V automotive relay. Here's an example of how I'm controlling the relay:

Unfortunately, the relay isn't closing when AC is present. Here's what I've tried so far
- I double checked the 12V relay and it's good. It closes when I put Ground to the pin that I want AC Present to control.
- The web interface (over WiFi) shows the AC Present signal is working correctly
- I even tried just putting the AC Present signal on the ground side of a test light, and 12V on the other - but no light
Any other ideas on how I can check that the output is working correctly?
