Can you run an LDU without contactors in low voltage testing?

Hi Everyone,
I've been reading up on this form and will be starting a build thread shortly. I've rebuilt my LDU with the openinverter controller board.
I've so far been able to connect 12V power to it, get into the interface page and calibrate my throttle pedal. I've also connected the encoder lines as well.
I've ordered contactors, a fuse and resistors but they will take a few weeks at least to come in. In the meantime, is there a way I can safely try to spin the motor using my bench 30V/10A power supply? All the wiring diagrams show operation only with the pre-charge circuit and main contactors. I don't have a HV battery yet but just want to confirm the motor spins.
Appreciate any advice and if it's to wait for the contactors and pre-charge circuit, then I guess I'll have to wait.
Thank you all for your contributions. This community is amazing!
