Any Copart user's here

Post by Jacobsmess »

Just wondering if anyone uses Copart for getting salvage parts and their experience?

Yes, it works.

Three things:
1) their website is terrible and you have to pay to be able to bid
2) beware of vehicle categories, only certain specialists can bid on certain cars (I forgot which letter is which)
3) sign up takes a few *days*, so make sure you have your account in order long before the actual bidding

Yes I'd noticed that. I'm a little apprehensive given the lack of space to work on a vehicle and they seem to add costs for every extra thing they can also (moving vehicle to other yards, using their yards to break a vehicle for a few parts only)... I wonder how much cheaper it may work out tbh....

Also from what I understand membership is £100 already, which if you are a professional breaker is no problem but if not is extra expense for an expensive platform, especially for only a few parts.

I was half wondering if the open inverter community might be interested in setting up a shared account to make better use of the membership fee....
