Installing Toyota prius gen 2 inverter on electric cabin scooter

Post by toastednow »

Hi! I bought electric cabin scooter used with 2kw motor but it only goes 25 kmh without field weakening with 76V lifepo4 battery. Motor will only pull like 60A at acceleration but that motor could handle much more power. I checked that motor resistance is about 18 mohm with vesc. Field weakening will make it go about 50 kmh at flat road but it takes very long to accelerate and it goes only 30 kmh at uphills. Motor has hall sensors so I probably need to change them to resolver. Stock electric system uses 72v => 12v but prius gen 2 inverter has 12v output so I could use it for lights etc. I was thinking at least 40s battery to have much better acceleration and climbing ability. I also need more power because I want to pull small trailer. For batteries I probably make two 20s packs with Samsung INR21700-48G cells and with total capacity of about 6,5 kwh. If you have ideas how to install inverter and have it run motor I would be grateful. I will post images if I go with prius inverter.
