Power steering cooler

Post by FFMan »

My BMW has a simple loop of pipe in front of the radiator that the power steering fluids runs through as a simple cooler.

For a road car running in the UK is his necessary. The pipes are in the way, and i wonder whether i bother to relocate the cooler or delete it ?

I'm using a zafira electric PS pump in my convernsion.

I think you’ll be okay to delete it. I’m using a TRW pump and don’t have a cooler.

Well i use TRW pump as well and it doesnt heat up. I think it is because it has its own oil reservoir where heat can be dissipated and engine which is a big heat source is not there.
