Want to copy that :) Can you post some info on how you did it?

The controller is called a JLD505 originally developed by EVTV back in 2015. I did quite a bit of testing with a prototype on the E39 and discovered that the vast majority of Chademo fast chargers would not work at much under 300v. It seemed to fade away after that until New Electric released a revised edition along with new software and an Android app. I got a prototype a few weeks back. I'd imagine they will be making a commercial version available very soon.

Superb to meet up and have the chats with yourself, Margeret, Kevin and the New Electric crew on Saturday in the paddock and see the Panzer in the metal! Pure class! Came away with a renewed focus and clarity with plenty more ideas on how to get the B4 Avant realistically underway. Very much appreciate the time Kevin and yourself gave to discussing ideas and evbmw's future plans as the popularity surrounding the E31 and the DeLorean was pretty evident with people lining up for a Q&A! with its creator! :D
Cannot emphasise enough how much an impact the Panzer, Grey Goose, €1000 E36, etc. have made on the community (not forgetting your input Johannes!) in proving how, with the use of reverse-engineered controllers in tandem with OEM motors, inverters, chargers, can make the future 'weekend EV swap' a reality with a greatly reduced price point.
Keep it lit! Fiachra

Damien, as always great having the time to chat with you and exchange some ideas and laughs.

The panser is looking sweet, only thing I would say you need is to get the damm BMS sorted. I am sure you will have something soon 8-)

Yep we'll be BMSing soon thanks to Tom:)

Was a great event and I was very, very humbled by the kind words of people who just walked up to me and said how my crappy videos had gotten them off the fence and into ev conversions.

You're a pretty bright beacon which is why you have so many people clamouring for your advice

Went to a public charge point rand by the EasyGo network today. Worked perfectly at full power on the Tesla charger.

Finally got down to fitting the BMS controller I got from Tom at the Fullycharged show. Very nice piece of kit. Problem is my Ampera pack seems to be missing a few cells:) When I fitted it into the E31 I had to cut the original bms wiring harness and I think this is the culprit. Can logs show I'm missing "Module2" messages. Now I recall seeing somewhere about the importance of wiring the bms slave modules in a certain order which of course I can't find anywhere now that I go looking:) If anyone has a wiring diagram or could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Of course it was in the last place I would ever look. Tom's github:) Now to determine which physical module with the batter is module 1 etc on the diagram.

Glad someone is making use of it. :D

The wiring of the cells to the slaves and then the slaves on the LV loom is a bit tricky.

Thanks Tom. I found my problem. I used the wiring plug for module 1 on module 2 and vice versa. Module 2 needs a loop on pins 19 and 6 for identification. Naturally module 2 is buried in the gearbox tunnel so will get on the lift next week and we should be sorted. That's what I get for rushing:)

As a side note the modules have a white sticker on top of the bms module with the number. #1 , #2 etc.

JB, what's driving the phone app you're using to monitor the battery in Der Panzer?

This is the guy :
https://emotorwerks.com/eu/about/news/l ... ws/125-r-d

Sadly discontinued and of course not open source so is in effect a dead project. I have reverse engineered the bluetooth datastream to allow me to use the app with other battery monitors. I have had one of the original products running 24/7 in the E39 these past 5 years without missing a beat. I might just go ahead and post up the apk and the data on github. I doubt anyone will be too concerned and I can always remove if it infringes someones "intellectual property"
