Just toying with the idea of organising some kind of meet up for anyone with a home built ev in the uk, obviously somewhere we can all charge and ideally somewhere fairly equidistant for all interested parties, if you fancy it post where you’ll be coming from and we can start thinking…..

I’ll be coming from Bournemouth on the south coast

Looks like Milton Keynes is about 130 miles for both of us, this would be probably 2 stops for me to charge, but until I get the chademo in and some longer range runs I don’t know, hence suggesting spring!

Would be 3 for me there and 3 back :D Might need a camp spot.

Yes it would be 2 stops each way and a destination charge for me, Maybe make an overnight out of it! If its a bit later in the year maybe a campsite

There's a few of us clustered in the South West (Bournemouth, Bristol, and a couple of obscure places in between). Perhaps I could suggest doing something local as well? I only have a 19kWh battery, so while I'm certainly keen to hang out, my range is pretty limited.

Yes I would love to meet up at some point. Need to finish the conversion I am working on at the moment though.

I am Bristol based.

I'm up for a meetup. East Somerset Based.

I have also been considering hosting a small meet-up at the farm next year. Could provide a field for camping for an evening. Would have to be after 1st of July though due to farming reasons.

Following. I'm actually based in Canada, but went to EVCCON 5 times without my own EV so 🤷‍♂️

Cool more response than I was expecting to be honest yes I’d be up for a meat somewhere between Bournemouth and Bristol also, might be a good trial run for a further away one!

Catphish where abouts are you?

I'm up for this. Coming from Manchester. I have a lot of work to do (rebuild the car, second pack, chademo) to get anywhere near Milton Keynes, let alone Bristol/Bournemouth! But have a convenient stopping point in the Midlands that can take a couple of cars (@Bigpie).

Ok I think logistically it might have to be a couple of different meet ups, a quick look for locations for a s/w meet on Zap-Map looks like there a good concentration of chademo and ccs around Wincanton

Great Idea and perfect for me. I am in Andover so so anywhere heading towards Bristol, M3 west or A303 would be perfect.

Blandford, so Wincanton area is convenient for me too without worrying about charging :)

Ok I think I’ve found the ideal place for south meet, Haynes motor museum, there is a cafe there that you don’t need to buy museum access to use and according to Zap-Map 8 type2 destination chargers, wouldn’t it be fun to fill them with cars that shouldn’t be electric, it’s also just down the road from wincanton with the previous mentioned rapids

I drove my Scirocco EV around the Haynes Museum test track in about 2001. The Cagiva Freccia conversion got an outing around there a few years later.

This sounds perfect. I'm up for a visit, in fact I'm tempted to check out the museum sooner as I've never been!

Yeah I am up for it, Somerset seems a bit far for the Northerners?

Not a problem for me though, I will come wherever in the UK.

Oh, definitely overnight at the location I think, I need pints!

I might also be in the UK in spring, so I'd be in. Will probably arrive by EuroStar again, but that's electric, too :)

Cool, let us know the dates your planning on being over and we could work around that

I'd love to join too. Might need a bigger battery or tow truck to get to Somerset.

Had a two hour wait for a CCS charger at Cobham services last Sunday (in family car), so it seems fast charging is no longer thus.

Hopefully this year i will have my env200 fully converted to a camper. I know its kind of cheating but i am going to make lots of mods to enhance it, promise. Anyway live near to @bobby_come_lately Tom so may bring him too if his bmw z3 is lacking the range.

I visited the Haynes motor museum today. The chargers are pod points, 35p/kWh currently which isn't that bad. They are around the side of the main car park so sort of out of the way. It seemed pretty deserted today, but then January is hardly peak tourism season.

The museum itself is quite interesting, you can get around in a leisurely couple of hours.
