This is a fast and easy way to get EM61 motor out from PARK. (Maybe works just the same with em57)
When removing the nissan assembly, it is possible to just change The P lock with a 11mm spanner.
Here is pictures of the 2 positions it goes to:
D = DRIVE

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
P = PARK

Any opinions are my own, unless stated otherwise. I take no responsibility if you follow my way of doing things and it doesn't work. Please double check with someone who knows what they are doing.

This is handy to know.
Has anyone worked out how the actuator works and can control this electrically?
I'm guessing it's just a motor that needs to be controlled by a h-bridge and has a position sensor for feedback?

Hi, yes, it is an SR motor, Switched Relucatant motor and needs a controller that reads the hall sensors in the motor.
I am working on such controller because I need one in my Saab 9-3 cabrio, which has a full Leaf stack.
On the Leaf this motor is controlled by the VCM.

I have the motor and its controler at home if someone wants to play with it.
First i wanted to use this but since my pug has handbreak i dont need it really.
I thought about using a socket and weld a rod to it. Then with a 12V door actuator i would turn it P D by relay.
But i am happy with park locked open now.

Can I somehow copy how it works from my complete daily driver leaf with em57?PaulHeystee wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 8:10 pm Hi, yes, it is an SR motor, Switched Relucatant motor and needs a controller that reads the hall sensors in the motor.

I am now in same boat with arber, that I just leave it open for now.
+ Later work out something if I feel like it.
Maybe use a cable and a lever.
Maybe use the original assembly.

Does anyone know the current required for each phase? Or anyone torn open a VCU to see the ics which drive it?
Also I assume for the encoder it's 5v, Gnd and two signals. Does anyone know which pin is which?
