this is very likely a newb issue.

Received a pre-flashed ESP8266 module from Johannes a few weeks ago and swapped for the original in my 2020 EVBMW Leaf VCU.

I have no gauges. I learned this could be because the parameters are not selected/ticked to display, but i don't have those either. Do I need to load my own parameter file? That's my best guess, but i can't find those on the web-interface git repository anywhere.

I switched back to the original ESP8266, but of course it ONLY shows me gauges labelled "Lexus Gs450h...", none of the other features the latest web interface offers. This is fine for now i guess, but it confirms there is something with the new wifi module that is missing. perhaps Damien's leaf_wifi.ino from 2 years ago ?

When the parameters didn't load for me, for weeks, the cause was that the ESP8266 wasn't communicating with the control board. It had power but no data.

It could be loose wires, poor fit, or crosswired TX/RX, or, a bunch of other things. Or, it's not even that. But that's what it was for me.

To my knowledge the Leaf VCU doesn't talk the openinverter comms so it won't be compatible with the pre-programmed modules I sell

ah! I was thinking that was the conclusion this morning during even more research. This is why i've ordered a Gen2 inverter board . that will provide me with all your parameters, cruise control!, regen!

I'm excited.
