I am currently in west France and we came here with the Chinese brand "Seres 3" car. It sports CCS charging but on our way here we had multiple communication failures. Sometimes we could eventually charge after a couple of retries but on some EVSEs we could not charge at all. I doubt these were all defective as on one of them a Peugeot charged right before us.
The problem was most obvious on a "Veefil" EVSE that displayed "ERR 49" right after just plugging in the CCS cable.

So today I researched the controller a bit and found this also Chinese branded CCS controller right above the CCS inlet:

Anyone have a quick fix idea? The connector is the well known Molex, I might just unplug it and check the contacts.
We met some people with the same car and they didn't seem to run into the same issues.

I think I have the pinout and the CAN protocol for it. There seems to be 2 different pinouts, one for GQEVPLC-V3.3 and one for GQEV5020

Thanks!
Yes indeed only 12V/GND, CAN and CP/PE are connected, 6 wires total. It's a V4.1
I wonder if there's a problem with the actual device or maybe the termination resistor?

This is a very interesting device. Are they likely to sell those controllers with documentation?

We talked to the dealer last week and supposedly they will receive the source codes and employ a software developer to fix these problems. So they will probably receive some documentation, too. Maybe they will give it to me.

BTW we tested a bit more on that Veefil station and I looked up the error codes. Err 49 is a problem with the CP signal level. After many retries we got past it, by inserting the plug at a different speed. Then it seemed like we could charge but ended up with Err 110 which means "car is already charged to 100%" which clearly it was not (more like 20%)

Due to our complaints my father now got the newer version of Seres 3. It sports an 11 kW 3-phase charger and apparently something was changed with the CCS implementation as well because it charges at chargers that didn't work before.
Will take a look under the cover when I visit my father next time to see which version CCS controller they put in now.
