*Help* 66 Mustang Tesla Conversion

Post by SmallBlock »

Hello, everyone,

I'm new here and unfortunately I need your help directly.
I'm planning to convert a '66 Mustang to electric. 99.9% of the work on cars I do myself, Engine swaps, Full Restaurations with body work etc.

I would like to use a Tesla motor because it is the most interesting in terms of price/performance. The biggest Problem is of course the control of the motor. I don't want to spend 2500€ just for the controller because I don't have the money later for the battery.

The Tesla™ SDU drop-in logic board (community edition) is of course an extremely attractive alternative to the expensive controllers. Unfortunately, I'm completely clueless when it comes to programming. I definitely trust myself to solder the contacts and install the board. But what comes after that? Am I then able to accelerate the engine using the Tesla gas pedal and insert DNR using buttons?

Please excuse these beginner questions but I am overwhelmed by the wealth of information that I unfortunately do not understand. Or is there an absolute step by step guide somewhere?

Thank you very much Greetings
Ulli

I suggest you start here: https://openinverter.org/wiki/Tesla_Mod ... %22SDU%22)

When ordering from the shop you get a programmed board with appropriate parameters that you can then customize. If you're completely stuck you can book an Engineering hour with me
