Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
You should definitely get that controler!
Damien demonstrated that it can be controlled by CAN

Also this guy ran the car using Outlander RWD combo...

Hi
I am doing the same thing and only finding limited info on this topic, if any one has successfully run the rear motor and rear inverter ,

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
I have a single front motor in at the moment controlled by a gen 3 prius inverter. It's a little under powered but would be interested in how you get on with can control the the stock inverter.

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
I have just found out that the motor is the front generator motor which still should be controlled by the inverter control unit. However i also found out that i need a front inverter control unit. And the one i was looking at is a rear motor control unit. Does anyone know where I can a get a front control unit. Thanks

Where about's are you? If you're in the UK 07312973871/erikaopolskiene50@gmail.com is a good Outlander breaker. You have the same motor/generator that my self(VW Beetle) and bobby_come_lately(BMW Z3) have in our cars.

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
I've done nearly 500miles on the outlander setup in the mini now and am very impressed with it, easy to control and very smooth, regen works really well etc.
Let me know if you need any help on the control side.
I've not tried it but I don't see why a rear unit can't control a front motor, you would need to get the resolver wiring correct and the generator has an additional temperature sensor.
That being said if you don't have one best to get the front one. Try to get the harness with what ever you get as they are hard to find.
Another good uk outlander breaker not far from heathrow: tel:+447442313023

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
I have contacted the numbers you all gave me and one of the guys have said that they have a front controller. Please confirm that the pic is the correct controller. Sorry i am quite new to this forum and do not know how to attach the pic. Can someone please help? Thanks again
Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Sorry what i meant to ask - Is the above pic the correct inverter for the front motor and generator?

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
That is a front inverter.
It should have 3 oval holes on the back.

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
What is it from?
I use a pedal from a VW polo very easy and cheap to get hold off, and looks similar to above.
You want one with you dual pots (normally a 6 pin connector) for safety IMO..
What is your project?
Have you thought about VCU, battery BMS and charging?

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
it is the throttle from the Outlander. So i think it should work with the original setup.
Phase one we going to get motor and controller working. Then we will look for any donor vehicle. Probably a VW citigolf. Then we will look at batteries (probably secondhand)

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Great news - i managed to get the controller and throttle from a scrap Outlander PHEV. How does the regeneration work? Is there a sensor under the brake pedal? How are you guys doing it? Thanks

A recuperation sensor is built into the brake pedal from the phev outlander
Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Is there any way to disassemble this motor without damaging it. I need to take it to South Africa and need to reduce overweight baggage charges. The last time i took an inverter and managed to disassemble a bit of it to reduce the baggage charges. Thanks

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Maybe you could take apart the motor (rotor/stator) and send it to yourself as extra luggage? I think limit for this is at 30kg so maybe you ould get away with it...
Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Please forgive my lack of knowledge. I tried removing cover on (Outlander PHEV Motor 2.jpeg) When i removed bolts the plate was super stuck. This is the side with the shaft sticking out. Should i have removed the cover on the other side (Outlander PHEV Motor 1.jpeg)? - i think the resolver is on this side. Should i remove resolver first. Thanks

Re: Program Mitsubishi controller
Remove the little cover on the back, then the resolver, then you can remove the back cover. The rotor can be pressed out then if desired, it'll take a bit of effort because of the magnets. The stator coils can then be removed also if desired.
