ST BMS for 14 cells

Got this evaluation board in the mail today.
BMS for 14 cells, can add slave boards with 14 cells.
Comes with preloaded firmware.
Christmas is saved :D

Cool! Is the L9963 a specialized BMS chip or just an MCU? The other chip runs the BMS master I suppose? And then you can chain in more L9963 chips?

Any luck with interfacing with the l9963? I am stuck at computing the CRC.
