Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
I like the Audi A2 very much, just the fact that it doesn't rust is something else as I hate dealing with rust. The only thing that is not so good is that the car sits very low to the ground so it seemed to me everytime I've seen them drive past. But otherwise a perfect car to give a new life to.
Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Our family (with parents and sisters) own 5 A2s. Two of them are 1.2TDI 3L versions. At first i wanted to use 3L version, but it had ABS placed almost in the middle of engine bay and also it is too rare to destroym.art.y wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:33 pm I like the Audi A2 very much, just the fact that it doesn't rust is something else as I hate dealing with rust. Oh, missed that one so far. Looks good I see you have the transmission mounted almost in the centre. Can you post an overview picture of the engine bay from above?

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Test ride on solid road.
After that more questions when answers ....
1. Max 80 km/h. Can reach it and after that cant get faster. Load on battery only 50-60A.
2. After max speed letting throttle goes into big regen. All is off in config. But it is only after max speed (80kmh). If i let go throttle at 60 kmh no regen.
3. Good acceleration from start but get weak after 30-40 kmh. It does not take more current. I see 50-60A, but current limit is set to 200A.

"Only Electric"
Are you still running 200V?

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
It was ~300V, but discharged..
Now my main issue will be charging/ballancing.
Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Drivable Config, but I still do not like it.

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
How high can you take throtcur without tripping?

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Had only some hours to play. Goal was to assemble front and try on the road
Now will try to learn all the parameters and understand what makes what and what are safe areas to play.
Last Throtcur was set to 3A (too much power on start, wheels spin R16 185mm). That should be 300A at 100% correct?
I did see max 45A on IDC at 100% PotNom
I checked parameters many times and could not figure what limits my IDC at ~45A
Also no cooling. But saw very small heating of inverter.
Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
In general it was very easy.
Spent too much time playing with forward going reverse and etc. First time is most time consuming.
How we make backwards not to go same 80km/h? it is too fast when going backwards

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
You could trigger BMS input together with reverse (well, forward) input and then at least limit torque with bmslim

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Nice! Will try that. Only issue that will be at the car after two weeks...
Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
And later i thought... How we trigger BMS input? Prius VCU has no inputs for that...

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
do you have CAN connected? Then just map canio RX to 6 bits and set bit 5

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
No, I do not have CAN module. I am no trying to use VCUs CAN to enable RPMs..
I believe i need to by some Leonardo's CAN modules

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
I had a chance to visit A2 today for some hours to make test runs. It is very difficult to do tuning when I hit many problems with tuning/system not responding as expected also not feeling brave enough to do many tests in live traffic..
1. Tried to retest syncofs and found that Manualid 0.1 and Manualiq 5 does not do anything... SW BUG? (Picture 3)
2. Driving and PRESSING ON BRAKE got me to accelerate! (Picture 2). POTNOM is negative!
3. Syncofset setting procedure. I can find different behavior as expected, said in instruction. Example SyncOfs 9000 with manualid 20 i get slow turn forward and with 120A fast turn backwards. so these manualid values overlap at same syncofs. what value to believe?

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Can help you when I'm there. Yes with Wong syncofs motor tends to do silly things

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
You mean acceleration on brake?
Also this was only visible when I make Throtcur more like 5A.
To have nice easy ride i put Throtcur 1A. If I put more it is almost impossible to drive on snow as it gets wheels to spin too fast.
Also I cant get past Fstat 200hz. it is set to 300hz.
PotNom is 100%, IDC is not rising and Fstat not rising. Where can be my limitations?
200Hz=~80Km/h
As this testing is almost impossible i am planning to bring it back to my living place. It will be 80km of driving. Still need to make cooling to be safe.
Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Some more tests. Went onto longer ride. Got to 100+Km/h. For more I believe I need more Volts. Freq is not rising. Tops at ~220Hz. Also Idc is not getting more that 50-60A.
Still not happy about unwanted regen on top speeds after letting the throttle. No regen is set for that. Only regen is foot on brake pedal.
Driving without cooling system. Did like 10Km at 100Km/h and saw Inverter temp going up to 40+C.
Power steering is not needed for such car. I can happily drive it without PS and save some battery juice.

Re: Audi A2 with Prius Gen2
Definitely points to an issue with the field weakening. If you come off throttle very slow it does not happen, right?
