Need a simple, small CAN transmitter!

II need a simple, small device that sends the same CAN message every 100 to 200 ms when a 12V voltage is applied.

It is be housed in a non-openable enclosure together with the ignition lock and thus meet the theft protection required by the TÜV (german MOT). The VCU then suppresses driving as long as this message is not in the CAN bus, even if the ignition switch is bridged externally.

The simplest, buyable version I've found is an Arduino MKR with CAN Shield.
Is there a CAN shield with power suply for the tensy?

If you want an off-the-shelf device: Thunderstruck CAN translator.
It has configurable messages and intervals and is smaller than a Teensy.

My favorite CAN shield is this one:

This one has a power supply though:

A bit big and a bit expensive.

I can't be any immediate help, but I'm super interested in that Teensy CAN module. For my EV projects, I am planning to everything to be CAN based, and then to have a central controller to tie everything together. This Teensy would be ideal and may save me the effort of building my own MCU+CAN board.

I think I still have a couple of these if you're interested.

Inspired by these two, I decided to use a teensy and make my own shield. It only has a 78M05 voltage regulator ,a SN65HVD231 Can tranceiver and a capacitor on it. A diode prevents the teensy from being supplied from outside!

To make it clear, it is not about bypassing an existing theft protection, but rather creating a system accepted by the TÜV for a car that does not have an original CAN bus or OBD.
