Hello every one! I just registered because of this thread:) Quick questions to you guys, as i'm planning to make DIY powerwall using Taycan modules. The plan is to make a HV (high voltage) pack in order to use HV inverters (like Fronius, SMC and others). The issue is all HV inverters need communication wiht HV battery and as far as i know most of them use CAN.
Do you know resources about Taycan battery packs? I can see 4 pins connector only and i saw only two pins need to be connected for communication (CAN H and CAN L?). Are the daisy chained together to get module status info of all daisy chained modules? I plan to use two battery strings (some inverters allow for that) so it will be i.e. 2 x 18 battery modules. In this case each string will be independent so each string needs its own CAN comm module to talk to its batteries and to talk to inverter.
Is your board suitable to gather cells infos and trigger balancing ect. of Taycan modules?
How about NXP board? I can see here:
it's working with Taycan module, however i don't know if it can retrieve info from many modules connected in daisy-chain fashion.
Regarding connecting batteries together: is it the reason the header has 4 pins? Two for incoming CAN bus and two for output CAN?
hi so your CMC MC33664 bms could actually act as a nissan leaf bms, controlling contactors and precharge, also send all the right can messages to the vcu right?
so we need:
-output for 2 contactors, i have to see if the precharge resistor has it's own contactor.
-input from the shunt.
-12v and can messages come from the plug that connects to the car.
also need a device to read the can messages to know what will need to be sent back to the vcu.
I think many people already done most of this part on github...
