Starting a post about my as for now, secret project.

total newbie regarding EVs but i think as myself as a quick learner

main ingredients for now:

Tesla small drive unit, front S or rear M3 with opensource logicboard / or hacked M3 OEM board
400v pouch batteries configured 96s and about 60a / not decided yet since this will take some time, things might happen in development
Zombieverter + I3 LIM
CCS
and a small onboard charger for home/overnight charging

So I've started scavenge the internet about the main components for an ev conversion.

First and most obvious is the drive unit.
Strongly leaning against the M3du

For this vehicle I want to include

Small onboard charger 3-6kw for overnight charging
CCS fast charging
Battery heating/cooling
Tesla ms DCtoDC

Battery pack for now will consist of pouch batteries in 96s3p
At 21kwh

BMS is still not decided since no support for it in terms of fast charging current limiting/optimization for e.g thermal situation or SOC in any of the open inverters

Also need to source other things that this community might have some good links/places to source?

hv wires, connectors and connectors.
Precharge relays?
Prechare resistors?

Wounder if m3 porting/coding Will end up in handling the CCS fast charging also
Or if i also need the zombieverter...

Any thoughts?

Hey sounds similar to what I'm doing, try get the motor with axles and rear loom to suit if possible, makes life easier.
I'm using a m3 drive unit in the back of a E36,
Tesla gen 2 charger with evbmw control board
Chevy gen 2 DCDC convertor which I belive is pwm controlled
ISA current sensor brought through someone in classifieds
Will use a combination of ECU master PMU for vehicle 12v control and possibly Link or Motec ECU to handle extra safety stuff that's required by our motorsport body here.
Then will buy a battery pack closer to completion so it doesn't just sit round degrading.

You are planning to use the ingenext unit to control the model 3 motor?

Nope waiting on the Damien/OI version, I'm slow enough at building so it'll be ready by the time I am, much happier to put my money towards the community thats allowing me to build something I've been wanting to for so long now
