PowerWatcher Display for Tesla

I'm pleased to announce cooperation with Yuriy Logvin, designer of the Powerwatcher Android display system, to integrate functionality for the open source Tesla drive unit and charger logic boards. I get asked a lot about a display for these products so it's finally on the way:)

The Powerwatcher will connect to the drive unit or charger or both over CAN and use any android device via bluetooth to display a vast array of information.
PowerWatcher website : https://powerwatcher.net/

The CAN firmware will be opensource so can be used to integrate other systems such as SimpBMS etc.

Obviously it will also be usable with any board running the openinverter firmware with CAN capability.
Estimated time to release 2-3 months.
Attached a few screenshots of a Powerwatcher running in my E36.

Sweet! Is it a dedicated display or does it run on your phone?

Yuriy has completed the pcb design for the can interface so will have prototypes for testing very soon.

Bare pcbs have arrived with Yuriy for the Powerwatcher V3 CAN interface. The V3 uses RS485 modules for sensing. In the picture you will see one with isolated voltage and current sensors attached.

Would be great if someone could put together a can message list that we can all agree on.

The SimpBMS battery can bus info is in the manual so please stick to that. As it is the same a few other BMSes out there so it can work with solar inverters/chargers.

CAN interface board prototypes built and tested and on the way to me. We should have it operational for Tesla / Opeininverter systems in the next few weeks.

I know its marked for Tesla, but will this work for other home-brew conventional setups running 360v?

Powerwatcher CAN interface has arrived. Don't suppose anyone wants to put together a can dbc that we can all use?

You could always use the Zero EV can messages for the DU as a base.

Currently populated two messages with the following

Thanks Tom. I'll use that as a template.

Ok then here is a stripped down DBC attached, also has the base Can info for SimpBMS and the open source Tesla Charger. I removed some info I received in confidentially.

Cannot upload '.dbc' that is why it is rar'ed

Looks interesting.

I just looked at his power watcher 3 high voltage,

Max voltage 200v

Is this correct ?

Where did you see 200v for the powerwatcher 3? powerwatcher 2 was limited to 200v NOT powerwatcher 3. powerwatcher 3 can go to 450v.

Just to confirm, the high voltage V3 kit currently in the webshop is ready to go for Telsa LDU compatibility, assuming the proper CAN messages are loaded?

The webshop lists two different powerwatcher 3 kits. The lower priced "middle voltage kit" looks like it's limited to 200v.

@jon volk no not yet. Seeing as no one wants to bother making a list of can commands for Yuriy it's waiting on me.
