GS450h compatible transmissions and inverters

Post by gfournier »

Hello,

I am about to buy a GS450h transmission and inverter. I am trying to find the latest information on the compatibility with the boards that Damien created (including latest ZombieVerter/V3 VCU).

So far I got this but i'd like some sort of confirmation before I buy.

Compatible inverters
- G9200-30040
- G9200-30061
- G9200-30051
- G9200-30040
- G9200-30030
- G9200-30180
- G9200-30170
- G9200-33171 (Camry)

Transmissions:
- 30910-30021

Thanks!

Anything that's put in a 3rd gen gs450h or a crown hybrid (GWS204 which is basically the 3rd gen 450h) should share the same control protocols. Transmissions-wise, as far as I know there are no differences.

So - is it confirmed that the G9200-33171 (Camry) inverter DOES work with the Openinverter brain board?

I was basing the inclusion of this inverter because of this post -> viewtopic.php?p=28941&hilit=33171#p28941. It seems to work with damien's VCU.

So - I'm looking at a G9200-33171 Inverter/Converter, and a P314 transaxle.

Has anyone got experience with this combination, running?

Strange I can't see any part with G9200-33171 when I search in my Toyota Catalogue.

Which Camry platform/model year?

If I search Camry
Model Name: CAMRY/HYBRID (ASIA) (05.2006 - 07.2012)
Model(Frame No): AHV40R-JEXGBT

G9200-33100 Replaced by: G9200-33101 INVERTER ASSY, W/CONVERTER 07.2009 - 03.2012 AHV40

Here are photos of 2 candidate inverters (both from Toyota Camry Hybrids - AVV50, with P314 Trans). According to the only identifier I can make out, the part numbers are both G9200-33171.

Using the VIN for an Australian Camry - 6T1BD3FK30X142521 - the website https://japancars.ru/index.php?route=ca ... lk_id=8431 shows:

- Reference number - G9200

- vendor code - G92A0-33021

- Description - INVERTER ASSY, W/CONVERTER

- Release period - 11.2013 - 04.2015

- Note - AVV50

The thot plickens!

Hi dukbilt, did you manage to confirm this? I'm about to buy the inverter for the GS450h and there are big differences in prices. Thanks

No, I wasn't able to confirm that at all.

Please let me know how you go, if you pursue that.

I'd start by looking at what the Logic Board and Power Board part numbers are, and if it has a 'Compatible 50 pin connector'. If they match anything on the wiki (https://openinverter.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius_Gen3_Board) then that inverter might be compatible.

HOWEVER - it seems the G9200-33171 DOES work according to viewtopic.php?p=27600#p27600
