EM61/EM57 driven by Prius gen3 inverter

Post by eduardomagtoy »

Diving a EM61/EM57 with the Prius gen3 inverter. Did anybody try this combination? I have ordered a Prius gen 3 dual motor inverter board from EVBMW and am interested in trying this inverter with other motors besides the Prius gen 3 dual motor setup. I'm aware of the extra setup involving resolver signal or other issues. Been thinking about mounting a EM57/EM61 to the Prius transmission also and have two Prius inverters driving both motors(MG2+EM57/61 without MG1). Thanks

I am using the gen 3 and EM61 combination, and paralleling MG1 and MG2 power stage to maximize current potential. I works very well and pretty straightforward to set up.

Does this inverter setup give out more power than the original leaf inverter ?

from what I’ve seen, 140kw pulled on mg(2?) with a semeins motor. Tho I can remember the pack voltage damien was using.

a em57 inverter has been pushed to around 140kw @ 96s

Hi

Where are you connecting those phase wires in parallel? Did you just bracketed phase connections and connect R,S,T lines from the motor to those brackets or do you use 6x cables from motor to each of 6 phase connections?
how does it behave on start?

tnx

This is how I have it wired to the inverter output and before the current sensors. On start both inverters are always active and synchronized.

Could you share your params? What throtcur are you using? I get the inverter cut out with paralleled mg1 and mg2 using throtcur 4

sure here is my file with my paralleled Gen3 paired with an EM61 leaf motor

Thanks.
Do you get any issues with the inverter tripping out with "throtcur": 4.5?
