I tried connecting the + charger to different phases while keeping the minus of the charger on the minus of the battery. the contactor between the inverter and the battery was closed and the inverter showed the "boost" status, but there was no charging current in reality. these experiments were on the firmware 5.14 foc. tomorrow I will check for 5.21 fok. it seems to me that the fact that my battery is only 120 volts matters and a different setting is needed somewhere.

Where did you get 5.21FOC?
