I was wondering, perhaps also interesting for the WIKI perhaps:

Is it possible to make a list of known usable/controllable BMSes in current OEM vehicles.

I know the leaf can be used which are options are more?

The reason i ask is that reusing an existing part has advantages for EMC documentation.

Leaf is not controllable; it can monitor cells but cannot be commanded to balance them.
SimpBMS has the most possible - Volt, Tesla (S and X), Outlander, i3, E-golf. There may be more coming, Damien is working on Model 3 (with lots of custom hardware) and there is some work being done on BMW modules.

Feel free to make a list of your own. If there are android apps using OBD to read cell temp and voltage then there's high possibility that this data can be read directly from the battery. Beware that some cars have BMS outside of battery casing. Make your own contraption to supply 12v and canbus to battery and obd dongle. If that's possible then the only feature you're missing on is balancing.
