I think I beat you by about 5 days. ... and you took 6 months off from where I considered us pretty close to tied.

And, my brakes aren't "working" yet, maybe, they hold pressure and at least one of them isn't letting a tire move. Oh, and I haven't electrically tested the iBooster. So, really, I have mechanically adapted the iBooster, made lines, and tested pressure briefly. That's... "done", done-ish.

Hurry up and move onto your iBooster so you can figure out all the rest of the hurdles before I get back into my braking system.

I think you read that too fast, it said done and ALL working.

ha ha, all three iBooster have been temporarily retired to a shelf in the garage, no iBoosting for me for Phase I the truck will move under it's own power first and stop with the GM OEM manual brakes (we hope) ! then The Greg will put on his big boy pants and regroup and attempt to mate one of the iBooster to the GM OEM master cylinder, which I may have to buy first since mine is technically the manual style and we will need the power MC, fun.

Yes, but as opposed to what? Done and... not working? Done implies working.

Except in my case, 'cause I've said my brakes are done, but I have no idea if they're working. But I'm done working on them!

so I went to my favorite mum and pop metal house and got me some alumininininumnum to mount on top of the battery tray

this was from their remnants ie left over pile so I did not pick these sizes on purpose we gonna work with what we found, fortunately our battery tray be 30.5" long so these were perfect length

I don't usually drill perfect size holes, but when I do I make sure my measurements are off by 1/2 an inch !

pretty happy with the result, wish each of the plates was about an inch wider, but oh well not bad for ver 1.0

turns out the BMW connection from it's Safety Box to the orange external plug on the OEM battery box is very modular and I luv that

so this is the empty OEM BMW battery box that's what my batteries came out of, and that's where the orange connector is from

nothin' to it but to do it

let's see if she'll fit

drilling these four blind holes to secure it with them OEM screws was a bit tricky

So everything below this plate is always live and lethal, 351 volts just waiting to make it a bad hair day, anything above this plate is only live and lethal when we turn on the truck to drive it or are charging the battery

Top Tip: always try and buy as much OEM stuff as you can, ask for pig tails, ask for cables, as you wheel and deal, and the seller is firm on the price, say something like: "that sounds good, but will you throw in the cables?" and 86.54% of the time they might


these fat long orange cables will get cut to size, we may just need like 18"

so got the Battery Tray Lid DC-DC Converter Holder (or BTLDCDCCH for short) in the good ol' organic free range BTLDCDCCH vice and decided to make things a bit sexy

to quote our astute colleague Mr. Damien Maguire "those eagle eyed amongst you may notice" the front two 7/16" studs are missing their acorn nuts, well, the struggle is real, take a look below at what my local ACE Hardware store carries (or should I say does NOT carry), they seriously jump from 3/8" to 1/2" you can't make this stuff up folks:

Buy a 3/8", drill it out, tap it for 7/16". Easy. Only takes a few hours and is easy to screw up.
