just installed a new tesla gen 2 charger, got it working last week. However, it only seems to charge at half the rate the charging station can handle. With my 40a charger it only charges at 20a, and with a 30a charger, it only does 15a. This is at 220v AC. I've set max charge rate to 45a.
Is there an issue with the control pilot signal, maybe firmware needs to be updated? Also, what is the difference between charge voltage and termination voltage? Can I set them to the same value? I'm charging chevy volt packs. Thanks for any help!

I just got Damien Gen 2 charger logic board.
1. Can I use Tesla wall charge station with this logic board.?
2. I am using Tesla HVJB do I have to give any enable signal to HVJB to activate the contractor for charging.?
3. In setup instructions A3 (labeled IN1) said connect your 12V- it means GND or it is 12V+.?

I can send some screenshots of the debug on Thursday, but I remember there was no abnormal behavior.
Also, is there any difference between termination voltage and dc charge voltage? Thanks

Just an fyi for everyone once the current stock of Tesla boards is exhausted that will be the end of complete boards being available from the evbmw.com webshop for the forseable future. The logistical overheads are just too great and I need the bandwidth to focus on new projects. Bare pcbs will continue to be available and as always designs both present and future will remain open and free.

Please do not run your charger as a 'Master' can mode, run it in can mode 'off' or 0.
What is happening is that it is dividing the current over two chargers due to it expecting a slave to be present.

I can offer a last time buy on Tesla Gen 2 Chargers and boards;
Since announcing that I was stopping supply of built boards for Tesla I have had a storm of emails and contacts from people begging me to reconsider. Now, the problem of small volume board building is not something that many people encounter. I won't go into the painful details but trust me it's not easy. I spent a ton of time and legwork trying to make it work and just couldn't. Over the Christmas period I was looking again at ways to get boards built particularly for my Toyota projects. I think I hit on a super way to do this and good news is it will work for Tesla boards also.The video here gives a full explanation and I expect to be using JLCPCB for all my builds if things go to plan. So, more boards, faster and cheaper:)

Amazing, good to hear Damien. when can we expect to see new assembled and blank boards?
personally looking to build a v4board for a gen 2 charger. would it be easier to do assembly / ordering my self and just tip you on payteron?

exciting, so far sounds like a move for coast reduction/production ? any estimates on when we’ll see a public release?

The new Tesla Gen 2 charger logic board V5 now in production at JLC.
Main differences over previous versions :
STM32F103C8T6 processor instead of SAM3X8E. Required as JLC do not stock the SAM3 at this point. Same processor as blue pill board.
Deleted external CAN channel. As the new mcu only has one can controller this is required to run the charger power modules.
Added an analog input.
Added support for backup battery (coin cell) to allow for scheduled charging.
Added WiFi connector for ESP32 WiFi module as used on the inverter.
So the plan is once we get boards in will start writing software for the new processor. Will have connectivity over wifi using the web interface for monitoring charge, setting parameters etc:)

V5 will thus no long support a Master and Slave charger setup.
Has the issue of the capacitor interfering with the lid been resolved? I do not believe this is on every cover but on most.

Can you let me know which capacitor? I'm installing some V4 boards and can verify the issue and check when V5 arrives
